Malin quits- to open a solarium parlor..!

    Is Ace of Base's latest album "The Bridge" also going to be their last? There's a lot pointing to it. Tension within the group has been more intense during the last year. In periods some of the members have hardly even spoken to each other. The travelling has also been a strain and it's hardly a secret that Ulf is the only one who appreciates the globetrotter life, while sisters Malin and Jenny- as well as pier moving big brother Jonas would rather stay at home.

New Apartment
    Now there are even further indications that the final is closing in. According to what Hank Extra hears it's Malin Berggren that wants to quit- and she wants to do it as soon as possible! The next video will be recorded in London, she says according to our source. And it will probably be the last thing we will do together as Ace of Base... Malin and her boyfriend since two and a half years, Fredrik Johansson, are just about to move into a nice apartment with large rooms and a fireplace in an old house on Hedasgatan in Gothenburg. The popstar role, the traveling and the hysteria, she is sincerely tired of. Instead she is dreaming of getting into health care, maybe building an exercise center- and starting a tanning parlour!
    All according to the rumours, that is.
    But it is rumours that partly- if even only partly- is confirmed by the group's personal manager Lasse Karlsson.
    "It is true that the girls have a certain discontent with their roles as artists," he says to Hant Extra. "But nobody has confirmed to me that they are really quitting. I don't think they will either. In one way oor another they will always be in the group- until it quits completely!
    Lasse Karlsson adds:
    "Neither Jenny nor Malin wants to stay on the level it's been so far. It has been far to hysterical. They want to get time and space to do something else. But the co operation will continue in some form!" Where the video for the new single "Deja Vu" (sic) will be recorded is not decided either according to Lasse. London is just one of the suggestions, but it's just as possible that it will be in a completely different location.
    After that it remains to be seen if Malin will still be in the group when they return home again- or if she has chosen a more peaceful road with boyfriend, new apartment and a good old job at the tannong parlour.
