To Potential Employers of Scott David Smith:

Mr. Scott David Smith has asked me to write a letter of recommendation in support of his efforts to secure employment in the area of computer programming. Scott taught a class in Internet programming for Springfield College in Illinois in the Spring semester of 2001. He proved to be an especially dedicated teacher both in terms of his willingness to be available to answer students' questions and his policy of opening the College's computer labs on weekends on his own time.

Scott also assists our computer networking administrator and director of SCI's technology advisor in solving computer-related problems. In addition, Scott played a key role in getting SCI's website up and running. Although I am hardly an expert in computer technology matters, I do value Scott's expertise and consider him a valuable resource for the College.

On a personal note, I would also like to add that Scott is very easy to work with. He has a sense of humor that I enjoy. Scott has a predilection for stream-of-consciousness remarks that emphasizes the absurdity of everyday events in our lives. Scott is especially popular among the SCI faculty and staff; to sit with Scott at a soccer game or campus social event is a pleasure.

I stongly recommend Scott for any job where the breadth of his talents and personality can be used to their best effect, be it technical, academic, or otherwise. If you would like any additional information regarding Scott's employment at Springfield College in Illinois, please feel free to call me at (217) 525-1420, extension 216.

  Sincerely,
  Jeff Mueller
