Thursday, October 14, 1999 what a rough month so far....but today, i got a big dose of inspiration and made a new graphic! Ok...ok..it may not be the most practical graphic i could've worked on but hey, it's gotta start somewhere! If you haven't noticed already, it's the 'best view..." text...it used to scroll and in most of the other pages, it may still do that...only if you're using internet explorer....netscape doesn't allow marquee text for some reason. I'll be replacing the old with the new soon....and yes, i'm still going to redesign!!! Just been real busy with other stuff lately. Still waiting to hear the news on where RATM will be playing on Halloween! It's either buy candy for the little 'trick or treaters" or buy RATM tickets...hmmm...decisions, decisions. Rumor has it that it's going to be at the 9:30 club in DC but no official word yet. If anyone else has heard anything definate, please let me know!! Wednesday, September 29, 1999 { { What's up people!! } } Has everyone picked up NIN's double disc yet? So far I've only listened to the left disc and it's good! Rage Against The Machine has finally titled their new album "The Battle Of Los Angeles" and will be released on November 2, 1999. The new song, "Guerrilla Radio" is so heavy and I like it!! I can not wait until their new stuff. From what I hear, it's suppose to be the best they've put out. Their last two albums are tops with me so I'm so looking forward to their new CD. I've been waiting around since the beginning of the year and now, it's finally here....well, another month or so. Korn's new album is finished and the Korn Kover Kontest is deadlined on the 4th of October so get your entries in now if you haven't done so! Winner not only get their artwork memorialized forever on korn's next CD but will also get a chance to meet the band!!!! How fuckin' cool is that? Yeah, yeah...there is that little thing about the prize money of a whopping $10,000 but hey, it's only money.... I have a cool idea but I'm just way busy to develope it further...so i'll only see it in my head. Who knows, a friend of mine asked about my idea and if he draws something up and wins, we split it....at least i hope we split it...hahahhaha Man, I'd love to meet Jonathan Davis. He is such a fuckin' amazing artist. I love creative ppl and man, look at him, listen to him sing, feel his music, read his lyrics....yes he's dysfunctional but so beautiful. And no I'm not talking about superficial, physical beauty....I'm talking about an outright beautifulness that surrounds his whole persona. I absolutely love original ppl.....posers please exit to the right.... Another person whom I find so beautiful (in the sense I mentioned above) is Zack De La Rocha of RATM!!!!! When I read about his life and what he's doing for the ppl, I'm just so WOWed! It's moving to hear about how he's working for the causes in which he believes in. And of course, who can overlook the amazing Guitar God, Tom Morello of RATM? WOW!! Double WOW!! His playing may be the single reason why I love guitar so much =) Here's something everyone may not know.....I'm a huge Sebastian Bach fan and I found out that he and his band are putting out a new album which is due to be released in the USA on November 2, 1999. That's the same day as RATM's release (along with a number of others from what I understand)! More detail can be found at Sebastian's website....there's a link to it from my band's page. With all these new music coming out, this winter is going to be mad with concerts and tours!!! Who's ready to mosh with me?? Incidentally, I had an extra ticket to the HFStival's Fall Edition last saturday. I ended up selling it at the metrorail station. If anyone is in need of tickets, ask me cuz I might very well have an extra one here or there. For some odd reason, I buy extra tickets and just think that everyone is as crazy as I am when it comes to concerts but it turns out that some ppl rather work than play....hehehehehe. I think in all honesty, concerts are the only things I can commit to ahead of time. Sad but very true! Even then, I'm likely to show up late...hahahhahha. Check back next month for more news!! Monday, August 30, 1999 I never updated the Woodstock pages...it was a good idea but I've been too busy! All I can say was that Woodstock was crazy and rage was the best act!!!! This news update is about the new guestbook I worked on thursday night/morning! Go to Nitedrifter's Dreambook to read and sign it! Since Woodstock '99 is just days away, I've decided to start packing!! But that's not the exciting thing....I read in the Woodstock pamphlets that came with my tickets that there will be a cyber village there so my GRAND idea was to utilize it by posting up messages from there on my website on each day of the event! That's what my plans are but who knows if I'll gain access to the net during that time. If I do, I'll be posting messages on Woodstock '99! Keep a look out for it! WOODSTOCK '99.....HERE I COME! UPS man brought my tickets last tuesday and I can't wait to go! Sunday, June 6, 1999 I'm getting ready to redesign this website so please bare with me. I'm gonna make it even easier to navigate and add some sections while condensing others! My new sections will include: Music (of course!), Spirituality (Wicca belief and much more), All About ME (hey, it is my site, right?), and a Miscellaneous section (for all other stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else!). Look for it in the next month or so.....meanwhile, you're on your own with the concert updates... ;) Tuesday, June 1, 1999 Where did May go? I'm starting to get all nervous inside...in 19 days, I'll be another year older....ouch! OUCH!!!! *takes a deep breath* I really had a tough time with turning 25 years old...and now, 26 seems to be just as bad! I know that everyone tells me that it's 'no big deal' but it is to me! All my life, I'd planned on things coming together fully when I'm 26 and time is running out! A few of my friends have turned 26 already and they're like, "it doesn't feel any different" but I think it's because they don't have goals set for themselves. After all, if one doesn't have a destination, why would one care how long it takes them to travel? I've spent most of my life taking the scenic route and now, I'll just have to drive a little bit faster on it =) I always hear women talk about their 'biological clock' ticking away but I don't think that's the case for me....it's more of an 'accomplishment clock' ticking faster and faster. Reminds me of this recurring dream I had of this huge clock, everywhere i went, the clock was there ticking and ticking and ticking. I haven't had the dream since I was in high school...my psych teacher analyzed my dream. Anyway, this news entry is to say that I'm thinking about changing my website around. I'm thinking of redesigning and split up the sections more. I want to add a section on spirituality and make my pages load up faster. I might stick with the same color scheme because I really do love it! Thursday, April 22, 1999 Another week or so and I still haven't updated my journal....I think that's it for that section...hahhaha. Three months wasn't too bad. Maybe I'll try to shorten it but it's tough. Once I start talking or writing or typing in this case, I can't stop. I have to get it all out in the open. Sometimes I think I explain myself so much cuz I need to understand it myself. That's how I figure stuff out....I talk until it makes sense. But the point of this news entry is to say that I'M GOING TO WOODSTOCK! I bought my tickets earlier today and I'm SUPER EXCITED!!! That's all...hahhahha.....YEAH WOODSTOCK '99!!!!!!!!! Tuesday, April 13, 1999 I'm back after a much needed time off! I haven't worked on this website since the last entry on the 26th of March....about a 2 week rest period ;) Actually, I've been extremely busy with setting up a new domain mytopsecrets.com for my business site not to mention redesigning the whole thing! BUSY busy busy! Now that I have some down time from that, I can put in alittle time with my personal site! I haven't updated my journal forever...stuck at week 13th...it's now like week 16 I think. I missed a bunch of shows I wanted to go but hey, time off was well spent. It is possible to take a break from fun? Maybe I was having too much fun...hahhahha. Thursday, March 11, 1999 GODSMACK AND ROB ZOMBIE has confirmed their place at OZFEST '99! Thursday, March 4, 1999 I finally started work on my local bands page! I think that I feel confident enough to write about the 10 - 15 local bands I've seen in the past year! It's like getting some experience under my belt...hahah...but seriously though...I was working on my miscellaneous page and I finally put up my page of all the shows I've attended since last year! I realized that I go to a lot of local shows so it is time to write up my little reviews. I finished the layout for each page and the graphic title for each page as well. It looks cool cuz it matches the same theme and style I've taken on. Man, there are literally 70+ pages floating around my site! I never really thought about it until some guy said that my site was the biggest personal site he'd ever seen! I keep adding new shit on each week plus I've only used up like 1.75 megs of my 25 megs so when it's all said and done, there may be like 1000 pages! I still need to work on my content for each of the local band's pages so I have to put aside my right brain, creative side and get down to work! Expect additions periodically! Tuesday, February 16, 1999 1999 is the year of the RABBIT! Monday, February 8, 1999 I picked up my tickets to the Laser Light Spectacular and the first show is SOLD OUT! I wasn't aware they added a second show until the ticket agent saw it on the screen! The first show is at 8pm and the second show is at 11pm. Matt Davis from 98 Rock will be hosting the first show and when I asked him about the second show, he wasn't aware there was a second show. I guess if Ticket Master had it up on their screens, it's not a lie! Tickets in advance are $18.50 + $2.50 service charge each. I got 3rd row center seating for the second show! I can't wait cuz I've never seen laser lights. I heard on the radio today that it's been confirmed that Alice In Chains will be putting out a boxset to be out later this year! Rumors about this surfaces months ago and now we have confirmation by Mike Inez, according to 98 Rock DJs. I can't wait for this to come out and a possible tour!! AIC is one my favorite bands of all time so this is definately a thrill to hear Layne Staley's voice again! Other CDs due out this year that I'm excited about: RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE has a new album out sometime in March of 1999!! NIN's tenatively titled "The Fragile" is due out something this year also! Since TOOL's lawsuits are over with, hopefully they will come out with something new this year or the next! |
