Esta es una página dedicada a profundizar sobre uno de los aspectos menos conocidos de la carrera de John Lennon: su faceta como pintor. Durante toda su vida, Lennon -que antes de alcanzar la gloria como músico, había estudiado para convertirse en artista- produjo miles de dibujos que, actualmente, están en poder de su viuda, Yoko Ono. Algunos de ellos (como los que inauguran nuestra pequeña galería, que esperamos ir ampliando en los próximos meses) han visto la luz, y están expuestos en museos tan prestigiosos como el Museum Of Modern Art (MOMA) de Nueva York. Otros, todavía siguen inéditos. Sorprendentemente (o, como mínimo, esta es nuestra opinión en el momento de "colgar" esta página en el WWW) sigue siendo difícil conseguir muestras de la trayectoria del "Lennon-pintor". Durante las próximas semanas (es decir, durante julio-agosto-septiembre de 1998) nos gustaría recibir las aportaciones de todas las personas que tengan más datos sobre el tema. Si saben dónde podemos adquirir libros o reproducciones de los dibujos de John Lennon, nos gustaría que nos lo comunicasen, por medio de este "link" de correo electrónico. Si nos quieren enviar obras gráficas de John Lennon digitalizadas, también serán bienvenidas, A finales de septiembre, publicaremos la edición definitiva de esta página, con todos los trabajos de John Lennon que hayamos podido reunir, y la información referente a cada uno de ellos. Si hemos podido averiguar dónde pueden adquirirse estos trabajos, también daremos los datos precisos. Esperamos recibir, pues, la mayor parte de aportaciones de todas las "almas caritativas", con un mayor conocimiento del "monstruo" de Liverpool, que quieran echarnos una mano. |
This is a page devoted to one of the aspects less known of the life and career of John Lennon: his work as an artist. During all his life, Lennon -that before becoming a legend thanks to his music, had been studying arts- created thousands of drawings that, now, are under the control of his widow, Yoko Ono. Some of that works (like the ones that we are showing in our little gallery, that we would like to improve during the next months) have seen the light yet, and can be seen in some of the more important museums of the world, like the Museum Of Modern Art (MOMA) of New York. A lot of Lennon's work, but, is still unknown. Surprisingly (or that's, at least, our point of view the day in which we "put" this page in the WWW) for the fans, is very difficult to get samples of the work of "Lennon-paintor". During the next weeks (in other words, during the months of july-august-september, 1998) we would like to recieve the help of all the people with a good knowledge of this theme. If they know where can be bought books or reprints of the John Lennon art, we would like them to send us that information, thorough this "e-mail" link. If somebody want to send us, "attached", reproductions of John Lennon drawings, they will be very welcome. In the last days of september, we will update this page, with all the works of art of John Lennon that we have been able to get, and the information related to everyone of them. If we know where they can be bought, we will tell it, too. We hope to get "all the little help from our friends", in order to provide a lot of good information to all the people interested in this aspect of the "genious from Liverpool" By they way, our english is not so good as it could be. If somebody can correct the mistakes in this text, and can send us the comments via "e-mail", it could be a big help, too. |
