and twice before Clark comes in… Clark: Verse Riff e--------------------------------------------------------------- B--------------------------------------------------------------- G--------------------------------------------------------------- D--4-4----------------x-4-4-----------------x-7-x-4------------ A--4-4----------------x-4-4-----------------x-7-x-4------------ E--2-2-(2.4)(2.4)(2.4)-x-2-2-(2.4)(2.4)(2.4)-x-5-x-2-(2.4)(2.4) e-------------------------------------------------------------- B-------------------------------------------------------------- G-------------------------------------------------------------- D-------x-4-4-----------------x-7-x-4-4-----------------x-4-4-- A-------x-4-4-----------------x-7-x-4-4-----------------x-4-4-- E-(2.4)-x-2-2-(2.4)(2.4)(2.4)-x-5-x-2-2-(2.4)(2.4)(2.4)-x-2-2-- e-------------------------- B-------------------------- G-------------------------- D------------------x-7-x--- A------------------x-7-x--- E--(2.4)(2.4)(2.4)-x-5-x---
For the natural harmonics transcribed above, lightly touch
the E string about 2/5 of the way from the 2nd to the 3rd fret. Both Guitarists: Lead-in Riff e----------------------------------- B----------------------------------- G----------------------------------- D----------------------------------- A------4p0--3p0--2p0---------------- E---------------------2p0-----------
Clark might play the "Lead-in riff" with slight pinch
harmonics… I’ll be able to tell once the album is released… Both Guitarists: Chorus Riff e---------------------------------------------- B---------------------------------------------- G----------2---4s5--------------4---5s6-------- D------4---2---4s5---2------4---4---5s6---2---- A------4---0---2s3---2------4---2---3s4---2---- E------2-------------0------2-------------0----
Play the "Chorus Riff" 8 times, and then head back into the
verse… Clark comes in after one playing of "Todd: Verse
Riff..."
After the second verse, play the chorus the exact same way as
before...I’m very hazy on what occurs after the second
chorus… I know it used to be a jazzy-sounding guitar duel…
But now I think it has been changed… Since I don’t know
which section is finalized, I’ll leave it blank for now… Both Guitarists: Quiet Riff e---------------------------------------------- B---------------------------------------------- G---------------------------------------------- D------------------------7p0------------------- A-------------7p0--9p0---------9p0--7p0--9p0--- E--7p0--9p0------------------------------------
The above section is NOT picked… The left hand does all the
work… Initially, Todd is the only one playing the “Quiet
Riff…” After 4 repetitions, Clark doubles the part… After
BOTH guitarist play the “Quiet Riff” together for the first
time, an alteration is thrown in… It’s thrown in again
immediately preceding the guitar solo… Both Guitarists: Quiet Riff Alteration e------------------------------------------------ B------------------------------------------------ G------------------------------------------------ D--------------------------7p0---9Brp7----------- A--------------7p0---9p0------------------9p0---- E---7p0---9p0------------------------------------ Clark: Guitar Solo e--s14tttttt--s17tttttt--s14ttt--------------------------------- B--s14tttttt--s17tttttt--s14ttt------------------5----5----5--7- G--------------------------------------------------6----6------- D---------------------------------2----2----2--4---------------- A-----------------------------------4----4---------------------- E--------------------------------------------------------------- e--------------------------------------------------------------- B--------------------------------------------------14ttt-16ttt-- G---------------------11ttt-14ttt--16ttt--14~~~----------------- D--------------------------------------------------------------- A--0---0-----2br-xsx---9ttt-12ttt--14ttt--12~~~----------------- E----2---2-------xsx-------------------------------------------- e--------------------------------------------------------------- B--17ttt--------16-17-------16-17-------16-17-17-17s19-19-19p17- G----------2-2---------2-2---------2Br-------------------------- D--------------------------------------------------------------- A------------------------------------------------------------- E--------------------------------------------------------------- e---------------------- B------17--20B-20B----- G--18------------------ D---------------------- A---------------------- E----------------------
After the solo, go right back into the “Chorus Riff…” Play
it four times… The outro consists of Clark playing
the “Quiet Riff,” the “Quiet Riff Alteration,” and the “Quiet
Riff” once again… Instead of letting the left hand do all
the work, play these sections while producing pinch harmonics
with your right hand… After the final “Quiet Riff,” play
the “Outro…” Clark: Outro |----------------------------- |----------------------------- |----------------------------- |----------------------4-4---- |----------------------4-4---- |------9p0--8p0--7p0---2-2----
That’s everything… Be sure to listen where Clark uses pinch
harmonics… I’m not sure if I caught all of them…
