For who I am

I wished that people would only like me for who I am. I mean, sure, I’m a singer, and millions of girls admire me and they claim that they’re having my baby, but those are all rumors. I’m still a kid! I’m 15, and not even thinking of doing any of that stuff yet! I am looking for the perfect girl, but I’m not in a rush to look for it. My older brother, Scott already have a girlfriend…actually, all of my brothers has girlfriends. Scott is going out with a slim girl. Her name is Melissa and she’s really talkative. You know what’s weird? Even though Scott is going out with her, Melissa’s my best friend. We’ve been friends for so long. Her friends, Monica and Dani are going out with my fellow triplet brothers, Clint and Bob. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m the loner. BUT you have to remember that I don’t mind being single…actually, I do mind…they make fun of me about it. They do it all the time. I always go to Melissa for help, and she always gives good advice.

“I was just wondering, is there such thing as PMS?”
Melissa burst out laughing, “Excuse me, Dave?” she giggled. “Why do you want to know?”
I could feel my face grow hot. “Well, I was just wondering…”
“Well Davey…” Melissa began.
“Hey Dave, can I have my girlfriend back now?”
We turned around. Scott was standing there by the doorway with a BIG smile on his face.
“Hey babe.” Scott said to Melissa when she ran up to him. “What advice did you give Dave today?”
“Hey, I don’t need advice every day!” I protested. That was a lie. I talked to Melissa about girl stuff all the time.
Melissa started to giggle. Scott looked down at her.
“What are you laughing at?” he teased. He lunged and started to tickle her.
I laughed and walked out of my room. It’s weird, since Melissa spends a lot of time talking to me in my room Scott spends more time in my room than his! Maybe I should just move…nah.
I walked into the living room and walked back out immediately. Bob and Dani were totally making out on the couch in there! Holy crap! They’re already making out, and I never even got my first kiss yet! Life is SO not fair! *Sniffle*
I walk towards Clint’s room and I was about to open the door when a laugh stopped me. It came from Clint, behind the door. Great, that means, Monica is in there with him, and they’re probably fooling around.
Well, now, I have nothing else to do. I took my track jacket and walked out the door. I’m very into nature. I’m very glad that we’re on a three-month break. Finally, we’re tour free…for three months anyway. I walked down the street. Where am I going anyway?
I was lost in thought when…
“Hi Dave!” a voice called.
I turned around and saw my neighbor Kyle and his little sister Karla running towards me.
“Hey Kyle!” I said. “Hey Little K!” I said to Karla.
“Hey Dave! Look! I can do a cartwheel!” Karla said, jumping up and down. She is such a cute kid.
“Ok big girl, show me!” I said enthusiastically.
Karla did a perfect cartwheel.
“Wow Karla! That’s really good!” I clapped my hands. “Who taught you that?”
“Nattie.” Karla replied.
“Nattie?” I asked Kyle.
“That’s what I want to talk to you about.” Kyle said. “Natalie is my cousin, and tonight, both of us are gonna be busy with stuff, so could you please baby sit for Karla and Natalie’s little sister Beverly for me, PLEASE?” Kyle begged.
I shrugged. “Sure.” I’ve got nothing to do except watch my brothers be with their girlfriends.
“Thank you so much!” Kyle cried.
“No problem.” I said to my friend.

I walked back into the house. Clint and Monica were sitting on the couch, watching TV.
“Where did you go, little brother?” Clint asked me.
“I took a walk.” I replied.
Just then, Scott, Melissa, Bob and Louise walked into the room.
“What should we do tonight?” asked Scott.
“Let’s go watch a movie.” Said Dani.
“Count me out.” I said.
Melissa walked up to me. “What’s wrong? Why don’t you want to go?” she whispered.
“Well, I promised Kyle that I’d baby sit Karla and their cousin Beverly for him.” I whispered back.
I looked at my watch. “Well, I better go, got a hot date tonight with 2 chicks. See ya!” I said, walking out the door. I could tell that the others, except for Melissa, were looking at each other with puzzled expressions.
“WHAT?” my brothers cried.
Melissa and I just laughed.
“Bye Dave! Have fun!” Melissa called after me.
“I will! Thanks!” I called back.

I stood on the doorstep, looking at the door. Why am I so afraid? I’ve baby sat for Karla before. It’s Beverly I’m afraid of. What if she’s a terror? Oh my god. I don’t even want to think about it. Dave, you’re doing this for Kyle, your friend. I said to myself. I rang the doorbell, and Kyle opened the door.
“Hey Dave. Thank you SO much for coming.” He said, letting me in.
I walk into the house and was greeted by Karla. She hugged my knees.
“Hey Davey!” she said, smiling.
“Hey Karla!” I said, lifting her up. Another little girl walked into the room. I suppose that’s Beverly. Then, another girl, an older looking one walked into the room. She’s really pretty.
“Ready Kyle?” she asked.
“Sure Nat. I’d like you to meet Dave.” He said.
“Hi.” Natalie said to me, smiling. “Thank you so much for babysitting Beverly for me. I really appreciate it.”
“No prob.” I said. “Have fun you guys.”
“Natalie. This is Dave, my boyfriend.” Karla pointed to me. I blushed.
“Well Karla,” Natalie gave me a wink, “your boyfriend is pretty cute.” She said before walking out the door behind Kyle.

Did Natalie say that I’m CUTE? WHOO HOO! YEA! A really pretty girl said that I’m cute! Wow! Alert the media! This is BIG, BIG news!
I guess I was still staring at the door, because the next thing I knew, Karla was standing in front of me, waving her hands around my face, asking if I was ok.
“Davey? Are you ok?” she asked.
I blinked and shook my head. “I’m fine sweetie.”
“Natalie is pretty isn’t she?” Karla asked.
“Yeah, she is.” I said. “Really pretty.”
“She’s my sister.” Beverly spoke up.
“I know.” I smiled.

Did I say that the evening would be terrible? Well, I am SO WRONG! The girls were angels! Of course, we played with Barbie Dolls and Polly Pockets and stuff, but I actually had fun! The girls were so cute and sweet that I kind of want a little sister to play with…nah, I doubt that Scott, Clint and Bob would like to have another younger sibling. Damn. Both Beverly and Karla are such cute kids!
I just finished tucking them both to bed when I heard the sound of the front door open. I walked downstairs and saw Kyle and Natalie walking back into the house.
“Hey.” Kyle said when he saw me. “Everything went ok?”
“Yeah.” I replied. “They were angels.”
“That’s a surprise.” Natalie commented.
“Well, I’ll say goodnight to them.” Kyle said, walking upstairs, leaving Natalie and I alone downstairs. WHOO HOO!
“When do you have to leave?” She asked me.
“10:00pm.” I replied.
“Ok then.” She walked over to the couch and sat down. I followed her. “So, tell me about yourself. How old are you?”
“I’m 15 years old, I have 3 older brothers, 2 of which are my triplets. All three of them have girlfriends, but I don’t.” I can’t believe I said that! I am such a moron!
“Oh really? I’m 14 years old, I love music and I don’t have a boyfriend.”
I couldn’t believe she said that to me! Was that a signal? I better ask Melissa about this.
“I love music too. All types of music.” I said lamely.
“Well, that’s great.” She said with a smile.
I wanted to float on air, but that would seem too weird.
My watched beeped 10 ‘o clock. I looked down at it and almost groaned.
“Sorry Natalie, I got to go now. Let me say bye to Kyle first.” I walked up the stairs to Kyle’s room. He grinned when he saw me.
“Natalie is pretty hot, isn’t she? If she weren’t my cousin, she’d be mine.” Kyle said.
“Yeah, Natalie is pretty.” I said, not wanting to say more. Natalie is Kyle’s cousin and I don’t want to get involved with anything.
“Well, I better go.” I said to him. “Good night.”

I opened the front door to my house and the first person I saw was Scott.
“So, little brother, how was it?” he asked.
“It was wonderful.” I said dreamily.
“Really? Did any of them make a move on you?” asked Clint from the couch.
“Yup.” I said. It was true, remember? Well, it’s kind of true. Karla DID make a move on me! Hehe! Well, sort of.
“What happened?” demanded Bob, from the floor.
“Nothing.” I gave them all a smug smile, and walked up to my room. I could hear them whispering. “And don’t talk about me!”

I lay down on my bed and stared up at the ceiling. A picture of Lance Bass stared back at me. OH MY GOD! No, just kidding. Melissa is the one who likes Lance. I got you, didn’t I? Hehe! Anyway, like I said, I was lying on my bed, staring up at the ceiling when I thought came to me. Natalie is gorgeous, but she could just be flirting. Maybe she knows that I’m a Moffatt. Man, this stinks! She probably likes me because I’m famous. Great, she’s using me. Am I jumping to conclusions? I don’t think so! All this worrying is making me tired, so I closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

I dreamt I was running through a field, and Natalie was there. Her brown hair, shiny, was neatly styled. I ran to her, my arms opened. When I reached her, I looked into her brown eyes, and she said, “Dave, could I get backstage passes?”

I sat straight up on my bed. What a dream! This must be a sign. Natalie is trouble. I got out of bed and staggered out of my room to the bathroom. When I opened the door, Melissa was standing there. I jumped.
“Mel! What are you doing here?” I cried.
Melissa giggled. “Well Batman, it’s 11:00am and we’re going to the mall today.”
Batman? What the heck? No one calls me that! That’s not even one of my nicknames!
“Batman?” I asked Melissa.
“Nice boxers Big D!” said Monica as she walked by.
Oh my god! I’m wearing my Batman boxers! Oh my god! I dashed to the bathroom and slammed the door. I could hear Monica and Melissa laughing. How embarrassing.
I did my business and got out of the bathroom. No details people!

“Hey Dave, looking good!” Dani gave me a thumbs up, while Monica and Melissa nodded.
I was wearing my black jeans, a plain white shirt and a pair of sunglasses. We have to disguise ourselves so the fans won’t mob us. Especially when they see us with girls. Melissa broke her arm once, when we walked into a mall and one of the psycho fans saw us. They presumed that Melissa is one of our girlfriends, which she isn’t at that time, and attacked her.
“You look really nice.” Monica agreed.
I’m wearing a pair of black jeans and a plain white shirt! What’s so great about that? I’m not even dressed up! Girls! Who could ever understand them?!

We all walked to the mall, and I watched my brothers with their girlfriends. They stood in pairs, holding hands tightly. NO FAIR! I WANNA GIRLFRIEND! I walked slowly behind the 6 of them. When will I get a girlfriend? Will I ever get a girlfriend? I was thinking so hard that I didn’t even notice Melissa walking beside me. When I saw her, I jumped.
“Boy, you’re always scaring me!” I laughed.
Melissa giggled. “What are you thinking?”
“Girls.” I replied.
“No kidding.” Melissa rolled her eyes. “Come on Davey, all guys think of girls!”
“Fine. I was thinking…When am I gonna get a girlfriend? Will I ever get a girlfriend?”
“Davey, you’ll get a girlfriend soon. You’re a good-looking guy, and you’re sweet and caring. The special girl will come Dave,” she gave me a hug. “I promise.”
At that moment, Scott turned around and looked at us. He knew that Melissa and I are best friends, so he just shrugged, adjusted his hat and sunglasses, and turned back around.
We walked into the mall and walked straight to the food court. We’re all starving!
After we’re filled up with Burgers, fries and pop, we got out of the food court and started to walk around. We walked passed Suzy Shier. OH NO. You know, that store totally attracts girls. Dani, Melissa and Monica walked into the store, dragging my brothers and me into the store. We all groaned.

“Scott, what do you think?” Melissa held up a light purple dress.
“That’s looks great, why don’t you try it on?” Scott sighed.
“I don’t believe you.” Melissa groaned. “I’m gonna put you out of your misery. Dani, Monica, since you don’t see anything you like, could you please take Scott, Bob and Clint to HMV?”
“YEA!” Scott, Clint and Bob cried happily.
“HEY!” I cried. “What about me?”
“You have good taste, Davey.” Melissa grinned.
What a compliment. Note the sarcasm.
“Why don’t you try the dress on?” I suggested.
Melissa rolled her eyes, and walked into the fitting room.
“Natalie, I swear, you look great!” cried a voice.
I looked around the corner of the fitting room.
“Kyle?” I asked.
Kyle walked around the corner. When he saw me, his face broke into a grin.
“DAVE!” He cried.
“Kyle, what’s wrong?” I asked.
“Natalie is a psycho!” he screamed. “We’ve been in here for three hours!”
Oh my god. Maybe Melissa isn’t all that bad after all!
I laughed.
Natalie peeked around the corner. “Hey Dave.” She said.
“Hey Natalie.”
“Dave? Who are you talking to?” Melissa asked from behind the door.
Natalie’s expression changed. Was it sadness? I don’t know!
“Kyle and his cousin.” I answered.
Melissa opened the door, and walked out. Wow, she looks great! She was wearing the light purple dress…wow.
Melissa smiled. “What do you think?” she asked.
“You look great.” I said.
Melissa turned to Kyle. “Hey Kyle! Long time no see! How are you?” she asked, giving him a hug.
Kyle returned the hug. “I’m fine. Meet my cousin, Natalie.”
Melissa smiled. “Hey Natalie.”
“Hey.” Natalie smiled back.
Melissa turned to me. “Do you think that Scott will like this?”
“Scott?” Natalie demanded, “Are you cheating on Dave?”
“NO!” Melissa laughed. “Scott is my boyfriend, and Dave here is my best friend.” Melissa giggled.
“So you two aren’t going out?” asked Natalie.
“No!” I laughed. “Never think that. Nothing has ever happened.”
“And it’s gonna stay that way.” Melissa said with a laugh.
“She’s totally dedicated to her boyfriend, Scott.” Kyle said to Natalie.
“Ok!” Natalie replied happily.
