At around noon the next day, Amy and Katie were watching TV when the phone rang.
“Amy, telephone,” Michelle said from the kitchen. Amy went and grabbed the portable phone from Michelle, then came back into the living room.
“Hello?” she asked.
“Hey, what’s up?” said Clint, who was on the other end of the line.
“Oh, hey. Not much, just watching TV.”
“Cool. Okay, Bob and I can’t do anything with you guys today--”
“Why not?” Amy asked, cutting him off.
“Because we have an interview to go to,” Clint answered. “But how about we make it up by taking you guys out to dinner tonight?”
“Like, what time?”
“Around 6:30. Have your mom drop you guys off at the hotel, and then we can walk to dinner. You guys can call a cab to get home.”
“Here, tell Katie while I go talk to my mom,” Amy said. She handed the phone to Katie.
“Who is it?” Katie asked.
“Clint,” Amy answered.
“But what if I don’t wanna talk to him?” Katie asked whining.
“Too bad,” said Amy as she left to go find Rhonda.
“What do you want, Clint?” Katie asked in mock annoyance.
“Well, I didn’t want to talk to you either,” he said sarcastically. They both started laughing. When they stopped, Clint told Katie about the dinner idea.
“Yeah, that sounds cool,” Katie said. When Amy got back, Katie handed her the phone.
“My mom said we could go,” she informed Clint.
“Awesome. Just come by the hotel around 6:30, okay?” he said.
“Okay. Bye.”
“Bye.” They hung up.
“I wonder where we’re gonna eat?” Katie said. Amy shrugged. At 6:30 that night, Amy’s mom dropped the girls off at Bob and Clint’s hotel.
“We’ll call for a cab when we’re done,” Amy said as we got out of the car.
“All right,” agreed Rhonda. Amy and Katie walked into the hotel, and went up to Bob and Clint’s room. They knocked on the door, and Bob answered it.
“Hey!” he said, giving each of them a hug. Clint came over and gave them a hug also.
“You guys ready?” Katie asked.
“Yep,” Clint and Bob answered. “Let’s go,” added Clint. After making sure that Bob had the room key, the four of them left the hotel, and started walking down the street.
“So, where exactly are we going?” Katie asked.
“To eat dinner,” Bob answered.
“Duh,” Amy and Katie said at the same time. “Like, where are we gonna eat?” asked Amy.
“At a restaurant,” Clint answered. Katie and Amy groaned. It was obvious that they were not going to get any information as to where their destination was. After walking for about twenty minutes, they stood in front of a, well, not a fancy restaurant, but not a burger joint either. It was like a family restaurant. They walked in, got seated, and ordered their food.
“I can’t believe we’re leaving tomorrow,” Katie commented as they waited for their food to arrive.
“I know, it doesn’t seem like it’s been a week,” Amy agreed.
“I know. I don’t wanna leave,” Katie said.
“Me neither,” agreed Amy.
“Neither do I,” said Bob and Clint.
“You guys don’t want to leave?” Katie asked them.
“No, we don’t want you guys to leave,” said Clint.
“The week’s been too fun,” added Bob.
Katie and Amy smiled. “It has,” they agreed. The four of them continued talking until their food got there. After they were finished eating, they paid the bill and then left.
“Where are we going now?” Amy asked as they walked out of the restaurant.
Clint and Bob shrugged. “Doesn’t matter. We just want to be with you guys,” Clint said. Amy and Katie smiled and blushed. Clint took a hold of Amy’s hand, and Bob grabbed on to Katie’s. The four of them walked, enjoying the end of the day. The sun was almost gone, and you could see the first hint of stars up in the sky. As they continued walking and the sun disappeared, it started to get a little chilly.
“I’m getting cold,” Katie commented.
“So am I,” Amy agreed. Bob and Clint, who were carrying windbreakers, let go of their hands. Bob handed his windbreaker to Katie, and Clint handed his to Amy.
“Thanks,” the two girls said, putting them on. Bob and Clint smiled, and held on to their hands again as they continued walking. At about 9:00, they were all thirsty, so they walked into a little café to get something to drink. They stayed in there until about 9:45, then Amy and Katie called a cab to take them back to Scott and Michelle’s. When the cab got there, Katie and Amy each gave Bob and Clint a hug.
“We’ll come by the hotel tomorrow before we leave to say goodbye,” Amy said.
“Okay,” said Bob and Clint. Clint gave Amy a kiss on the cheek, and Bob did the same to Katie before the girls climbed into the cab. Amy and Katie were silent the entire way back to Scott and Michelle’s, but when they went into the guestroom, they started talking.
“That was so fun,” Katie said, flopping onto the bed.
“Yeah, it was,” Amy agreed.
“Oooh, why do we have to leave tomorrow?”
“I don’t know, but it sucks.” Katie nodded. “Oh, crap,” said Amy.
“What?” Katie asked.
“We forgot to give them back their windbreakers.” Katie looked down to see that she was still wearing Bob’s windbreaker.
“Oops.”
“Oh, well, we’ll give them back to them tomorrow.”
“Yeah.”

“Man, tonight was awesome,” Clint said as he and Bob entered their hotel room.
“Definitely,” agreed Bob.
“I wish that we could stay here longer and that they could too.”
“So do I. This week went by too fast.”
“It did. It seems like we just met them yesterday.” Clint paused for a minute. “How did we meet them anyways?” he asked.
“Down in the pool,” Bob reminded him.
Clint nodded. “That’s right.”
“You know, they forgot to give us back our windbreakers.”
Clint shrugged. “Oh, well. I’m gonna let Amy keep mine.”
“Yeah, I’ll probably let Katie keep mine too.” Clint turned on the TV, and the two of them watched TV until they were tired enough to go to sleep.
