Note from the Author: In this part, it’s really sad. I nearly cried! Remember: FICTION!
Always Will Be Together
Part Two
Dave and Scott buried their face in their hands. They were sitting in Dave’s room.
“I can’t believe that they’re doing this to us.” Scott moaned.
“At least we can still go out and stuff, but no more contact with Alice and Melissa. The problem is that we can’t go out by ourselves. We have to be with either mom, dad, Clint or Bob!” cried Dave.
There was a knock on the door.
“Come in.”
Clint and Bob walked into the room.
“We believe you when you said that you guys didn’t do anything, and we both think that it was so unfair that you can’t see each other anymore.” Clint said sympathetically.
“We’d like to help you, but we’re not allowed to see either girl.” Said Bob.
“Clint! Bob! Come here!” called their mom.
“Gotta go.” They said, and left.
The door opened again. Their father stood in front of them. “Boys, I would like you to be in your rooms.”
Scott went through the bathroom separating the their rooms.
Dave looked around the room sadly. His eyes stopped on the walkie-talkie behind his teddy bear.
The walkie-talkie! That’s how he could talk to Melissa!
He pressed the ‘talk’ button.
“Melissa?” he whispered.
~*~*~
Melissa buried her face in her pillow. She missed Dave so much.
“We didn’t do anything!” Melissa said to her teddy bear.
“Melissa?”
“What the heck?” Melissa said out loud.
“Melissa?” the bear whispered again.
‘Oh! The walkie-talkie!’ Melissa thought.
She picked up the walkie-talkie. “Dave?” she asked.
“Melissa? How are you?” asked Dave.
“I miss you.” She whispered. “Hang on, let me tell Alice to use the walkie-talkie to talk to Scott.” She picked up the walkie-talkie that she uses with Alice and pressed the ‘talk’ button.
“Alice? Alice!”
“Melissa? This is so unfair!” she said.
“I know. I found a way for you to talk to Scott. The walkie-talkies!”
“OMG! Thank you!”
“No prob. I’m talking to Dave right now.”
“Thanks SO much!”
“Like I said, no prob. I’ll talk to you later.” Melissa said. She returned to Dave.
“Davey, look out the window. I wanna see your face.”
Melissa looked out the opened window and saw Dave’s face looking back at her. Tears welled up in her eyes. She couldn’t be apart from Dave.
“Oh Melissa, don’t cry! We’ll think of something!” Dave said.
“DAVE!” called his dad.
“Gotta go, I’ll talk to you later.” Said Dave.
“Melissa, can we talk to you?” asked a voice. It was Andrew and Sean.
“Look,” began Andrew. “I know it must be hard for you, being away from Dave. Trust me, I know the feeling. Remember Anna?” he asked.
Melissa nodded. Anna was Andrew’s girlfriend. Anna’s parents were so strict, and they didn’t like Andrew. They forbid them to go out, and Andrew was heartbroken, but Melissa and Anna’s brother Adrian set them up in the forest.
“Well, I’m going to invite Brendan, Dave, Scott, Clint and Bob to go to the mall with us, but their parents won’t know that they’ll be meeting you guys. Mom and Dad won’t know that I invited them. Are you following me?”
Melissa’s eyes widened.
“And you and Alice are coming to the mall too, but mom and dad won’t know that the Moffatts will be there. Get it?” said Sean.
“I get it.” Melissa said.
“Well, let us arrange it, ok?” Andrew asked with a smile.
“Thank you so much guys!” Melissa cried, hugging both of her brothers.
“No problem.” Sean said to her sister. He pinched her cheek, and left.
“Mom! We’re gonna take Melissa and Alice to the mall, ok?” Andrew asked.
“Ok.” Their mom said.
Melissa, Andrew and Sean walked out the front door to pick up Alice. Melissa sadly looked at their house. Their door opened and Clint’s head popped out!
Melissa’s eyes widened. Clint gave a little wave and said, “Mom! Bob and I are gonna take Dave and Scott to the mall, ok? They seem so depressed.”
“Ok! Have fun!” his mom replied.
Clint waited till his brothers were ready until they walked out of the house. By that time, Andrew and Sean already got Alice and Brendan, and were walking back to the Moffatt house. Scott, Clint, Dave and Bob walked out of the house. Their smile grew when they saw Melissa and Alice there. Together they walked to another street before greeting each other. When they walked down 4 blocks to Beaver road, Dave, Melissa, Scott and Alice hugged each other. The others watched with smiles on their faces. They all knew that Melissa and Dave, and Alice and Scott were meant to be together. If only their parents knew how much they love each other.
They all had a great time at the mall. Being together is the thing they all dreamed of. Melissa dropped off Alice at her house and walked back to her own house with her brothers. She turned to Andrew and Sean and gave each of them a hug.
“Thank you so much.” She said to them.
When they walked into the house, the three of them stopped short. Their parents were standing right there in front of them.
“You were with Dave.”
“Mom, I can explain” began Melissa.
“NO!” her father barked. Melissa began to cry.
“Dad, we set them up. Melissa and Dave belong together, like Jack and Rose.” Said Andrew.
“I don’t want to know.” Said their mom.
“Look! Melissa did nothing wrong.” said Sean.
“Did nothing wrong?” asked their Dad. “She went to meet the Moffatts!”
“There’s nothing wrong with them!” screamed Melissa.
“Shut up!” barked her dad. “I saw you from the window. I saw them, and I saw Alice. Their parents have been informed.”
Melissa’s mom leaned towards Melissa. “We just want you to be happy…” she began.
“Happy? You want her to be happy?” yelled Andrew. “Melissa was happy today, when she was with Dave. Her BOYFRIEND! They’re like Romeo and Juliet. You guys are keeping them apart!”
“Melissa and Dave love each other! Let them be together!” yelled Sean.
“Stop it right now!” their dad yelled.
“UP MY ASS!” screamed Andrew.
“Andrew Thomas Bass! Don’t speak to your father like that!”
“Then stop treating her and us like SHIT!” screamed Sean.
Mr. Bass couldn’t take it anymore. He grabbed Melissa by the arm and dragged her upstairs, into the room and locked her door.
“Dave, Scott, am really disappointed.” Began their Dad.
“We’re sorry dad, but we love Alice and Melissa.” Said Scott.
“I know you do, but Melissa’s parents and Alice’s parents are really over protective, especially Melissa’s. I know you want to be with her, and I’m happy that Clint and Bob tried to help you, but you just can’t see them anymore.”
“No Alice! I don’t want to hear about it!” yelled her father.
“It’s not Alice’s fault.” Began Brendan.
“Shut up!”
“No YOU SHUT UP!” Screamed Brendan, hugging his little sister. “Alice loves Scott!”
“I don’t want to listen to this!”
“NO! You’re gonna listen to this! They belong together, and if you want her to be happy, let her be with Scott!”
“NO!”
Alice’s father pulled her into her room and slammed the door. He forbids Brendan to go and talk to her. Alice cried herself to sleep. In the middle of the night, she got up and went to her medicine cabinet, and took out a bottle of painkillers. She went back to her desk and took out her letter paper.
Dear Mom, Dad and Brendan,
Brendan, I love you. You’re the best brother and you understand me. Mom, dad, why don’t you understand me? Why? I love Scott. Please give all my stuff to Dave, Scott, Melissa and Brendan. You know what mom? Dad? I don’t forgive you. You broke my heart. Brendan, please tell Scott, Melissa and Dave that I love them.
Love and Goodbye, Alice
Alice went into Brendan’s room and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She poured a handful of pills in her hand, and swallowed them, and closed her eyes on her bed.
During the middle of that night, Melissa couldn’t take it. She couldn’t sleep and her eyes were dry from crying so much. She climbed out her window, wanting to talk to Dave, Alice, anybody! She got off the ledge, and onto the balcony. She moved her foot across the fence on the other side. She was hanging 2 floors off the ground. Her foot got the edge of the balcony…and she slipped. She slipped off the balcony and fell two floors down onto the ground. No one heard her that dark night…
Note from the Author: This part is dedicated to my best friend Lisa from Vancouver, who killed herself with painkillers. Guys teased her because they think that she was ugly, which I don’t think she is. Also, her parents were really strict, and she was under stress.
