A fundraiser was held for the Andy Gibb Memorial Foundation in Miami Beach, Florida on May 29, 1999 at the Shelborne Beach Resort. Gibb fans from around the world came together for the special event and I was lucky enough to be one of them! To raise money for the AGMF, Gibb memorabilia was sold and rare Gibb items were silent auctioned. (I won a nearly "life-sized" Andy Gibb stand-up for $95.00!) There were also many other exciting things going on throughout the day including a special Gibb video screening of Barry Gibb's "Night of Sinatra" performace / rare performance footage of the Bee Gees singing as young boys in Australia / and the full "un-cut" version of the Sydney One Night Only concert! Gibb door-prizes were given away as well as private tours of Middle Ear Studio for the following day! The highlight of the event was the appearance of Maurice Gibb, who was all smiles despite the fact that his brothers couldn't make it and he was in a room full of Gibb-crazy people alone! Maurice was kind enough to stay long enough for every fan in the room to get an autograph and picture. I got my Barry Gibb Signature Series Guild guitar signed by Maurice! It was the thrill of a lifetime getting to meet Maurice. He was everything I'd dreamed he'd be and more! What a nice guy!!! Barry's wife, Linda, and daughter, Ali, also attended the fundraiser, as well as the Bee Gees' mum, and their personal manager , Dick Ashby. It was a day I will remember for the rest of my life!

My dad , Mike Jackson, younger brother, Shaun Jackson, and myself were also given the honor of entertaining the guests of the fundraiser while they waited to enter the ballroom! After cheking-in, the guests went upstairs to the Gold Room where me and my family were playing and singing Gibb tunes.
