This is the website for the band BOHDI. The musicians who have comprised the BOHDI experience are Joe Taylor, Mitch Luman, Brad Emrich, John Sheverbush, Jeremy Boyd, Drew Noble, Todd, Stan, Joe Leiter, Dann Flaherty, Mike Spilman, Steve Ball & Walt. BOHDI began creating music in Pittsburg, Kansas in 1990. The group rarely played live, but instead focused on four-track recordings of compositions and group improvisations. Early unreleased cassettes include "My Dixie Wrecked" "Pissed in a Bowl, Sung from a Hole" "Wake Up and Smell the Coffee" and "Brother Chuck!" BOHDI played only two live concerts in Kansas, both in 1993: one at the McCray Music Hall at Pittsburg State University and one in Todd's parent's garage on Dixie Farm Road. Cross-country relocations in 1993-1994 forced a halt to live jamming, but the group continued to compose, sending tapes back and forth from Kansas, Texas and later Arizona through the mail. The group reformed in 1995 in Phoenix Arizona around core members Joe Taylor and Brad Emrich and continued recording, also playing some open mic night's at a Joe's Grotto on 32nd Street. Another cross-country relocation in 1999 signaled the end of the band, but we will soon be re-emerging as HOLOCENE. We are currently preparing digital transfers for future CD releases of archival BOHDI music. - Brad Emrich 8/2001 |
