I went to at least one of these.  This brings back depressing memories because Mickey was no
longer with them and IMO something was really missing from the spirit of the band at this point. 
Not only that, the audience was starting to change, getting more self centered and impatient,
screaming a lot between sets, making noise during quiet songs, etc.  I dunno, I was really
bummed out after the show and maybe it was just an off night but I really believe that this period
marked the end of an era in some ways.  At least I felt that way at the time.  Of course since then
I've seen and heard things that were great but something in the Dead-audience relationship never
recovered it's former intimacy for me.  But hey, what do I know?

But that's just me and my perspective.  I completely acknowledge that for others both older and
younger, it may be a very different reality.
