Mp3 of the second: Tonight I'm Gone - Moneen

"I have seen the greatest minds of my generation destroyed by madness." Ginsberg was right, and still is.  I think he was writing about how helpless and hopeless the great revolutionary thinkers of the 60's were as they eventually failed to acomplish anything.  Thirty five years later our greatest minds are destroyed before they can even begin thinking with any real purpose.  The main problem is a lack of a sense of urgency among our youth.  I'm by no means old and weathered, but at the same time, i'm not the new generation.  I was not born into a world with information so readily available, but this information is frighteningly incorrect, or biased.  I guess it's something about people in my age range that were raised by mass media, but not born right into it that causes us to be frightened, or distrustful of CNN, or CNBC or even The Toronto Star.  Something media has now, that it didn't have when my parents were watching TV or reading the paper was a sense of anonymity, there is such a saturation of different conglomerates and networks and media giants that we have no idea who owns which and who is telling which version of the truth.  It's wonderful to watch NBC news and then watch a contradicting story on CNBC an hour later, as if the cable news channels are a way for network news to check their own facts and retract ideas without having to tell anyone.
You are sucker number
