HAYDEN Everything I Long For (Hardwood/Sonic Unyon; 1995)
Hayden is an incredibly talented musician, artist and video director. I will never forget the first time I saw him perform at the Horseshoe, opening for treble charger. I got lost in his compelling world of everyday tales whether it's longing to catch someone's eye in a coffee shop, sharing a bunkbed with your brother (which I did for over 10 years) or hanging out with that special someone in your parent's basement. Hayden enlightens me with stories of his world, and he also makes me aware of some of its tragedies. I almost want to cry everytime I hear "when this is over". I put on Everything I Long For whenever I need to take a ride on an emotional rollercoaster and take a look at my life. I consider myself so lucky to have the opportunity to experience Hayden's music firsthand.
