Five years ago on the blackest of nights, rising up from the ashes of hell (or a badly burned pork chop) came "The Butchers." They arrived on the music scene like a screaming lamb on a butchering block. The band is now cutting up the Garden State bar scene like a razor-sharp Ginsu. From 1995-96 the New Jersey based cover band was on tour in Europe opening for the Swedish metal group "The Deli Slicer Guys." Stunned crowds witnessed "The Butchers" spectacular musicality and bizarre stage antics. During the first set of their performance, the guitarist and bassist join forces and unmercifully bludgeon a goat right on stage. Shortly after, in a revolting ritualistic display, the battered and bloodied carcass is then fed to the drummer. Amazingly, at the end of each show, the lead singer bites the head off a live cow! This usually leaves the audience screaming for more. It is a must see! After long court battles with animal rights activist groups and 200 sold out concerts, the band is now back from their European tour better than ever. So if your looking for a choice cut of beef and you like your music well done, then look for "The Butchers" at a bar near you.
