Name: Cockroach Stolm Background History: Cockroach has lived his whole life in the town. However, his life has not been easy either. At a young age, his twin, or close brother Rover, died. The family had no father to begin with, and now it was just Cockroach and his mother, Beth. The tradgey rocked their family- Beth seemed to lose all will to live, and became very sick with a diese fits, siezures, and a coma like lack of energy. Cockroach became unmanagable- his period of greiving is fierce and uncontrolable- and his constant weeping, etc. slowly seperated him from his classmates. He slipped into a vacant state- not caring if the kids teased him or not. They would hit him, and jeer at him, and he never did anything to stop it- just run away. Slowly he make more normal- but he had always been branded a coward. Bear is new in the school, and obviously doesn't know about him, so he decides to try and make friends with him. Despite his painful background- he's spent his life trying to cheer his mother up, and make her want to live again- so he is a cheerful, and surprisingly creative little critter. Because of the siginificant difference between Cockroach and Bear and Wulf- he is the tool which the other two bounce all their ideas, and life theories off of. Clothes: Wears the same school garb as Bear- black round shoes, cut pants, etc. However, he's shirt tastes can be subtly more interesting then Bears- say shades of color, and maybe the odd pattern. Also, he usualy wears one of those round caps things. His hair is usual school boy fair- dirty blonde. Role in Posse: Cockroach is the intellect. He comes up with most of the plans, brings warmth to the group. He also is more of a dreamer- geeky and innocent. For instance, he doesn't mind girls, and plays pooh sticks. He is also a bit of a dare devil- in a different way of the other two. Bear and Wulf have very strict rules of what is appropriate for them to do- but Cockroach likes to defy that. Suitable Actor: Cockroach is the coward- he should phsyically look pale and green/yellow. Any skinny bow legged kid would probably do- except he has to have a playful side for the standing on the corner song. There are two sides two Cockroach- the swashbuckling charmer (Pepper, restaurant scene, etc.), and the yellowish spy. You must have the wus side of him established first, before you can add on the layer of the smooth talker- because that's what he is, really. Only one of the whole cast in this play really has to sing- and thats Cockroach. Oscar, his character doesn't really need to be GOOD at singing- but Cockroach does. |
