The Byter Company A tale of slavery, but not all of sorrow. Chapter One: Above Chapter Two: Below This tale is a short one, but it has one of my favorite characters in it: the slave boy 187. Many times I've considered writing more- at the begining it was to be much longer. 187 would grow up on the farm, and eventualy lead a painful rebellion (because of the memories provoked) against the owners of the Byter Company. When I had gotten as far as is here, however, I school assignment came up, and I used it.
