Tremont Music Hall
Charlotte, North Carolina

As far as a review of the show, the Hip were tight and on good form. It was a much better and crowd-friendlier show than their last Charlotte appearance. The only disappointment was that according to the set list (which was right in front of me), they were scheduled to play two songs for their second encore. They only played one (Ahead by a Century) and this wasn't even listed on the set list. Having never heard ABAC as an ending song, I was surprised. According to the owner of the club, two of the band members weren't feeling well and perhaps that explains the shortened second encore. All in all a fine show and it's nice when the Hip come to your hometown...a great night out and you're home at a reasonable hour!
I spoke with Gord Downie after the show and he was looking forward to several weeks off. I've met him several times now and I was quite chuffed that he remembered my name!
