Chris Thompson is one of rock's great "unsung" vocal
talents. Although many rock fans may not immediately recognize
the name, his vocals have made a permanent mark on the landscape
of modern rock. He first shook the popular music scene as the
thunderous voice on the fantastically huge single "Blinded
By The Light" with Manfred
Mann's Earth Band, still in constant radio rotation 20 years
later. Well known in the recording scene for his high-energy vocal
power, his talent is in constant demand by the likes of rock legends
Jan Hammer, Elton John,
and Alan Parsons.
Chris has contributed songs and/or vocals to albums with such
artists as Jeff Wayne, Patrick Simmons, Hazel O'Connor, John Parr,
Don Airey, Mike
Oldfield, Jan Hammer,
The Doobie Brothers, Tina Turner, Elton John, Roger Daltry, Jefferson
Starship, Brian May, Gary
Moore, Barbara Dickson, Ozzy Osbourne, Michael McDonald, Robbie
Nevil, Jane Wiedlin, Elke Brooks, Rita
Coolidge, Peter Maffay, Procol
Harum, Bonnie Tyler, Isaac Hayes, Jennifer Rush, and Ray Charles.
Of particular note was the Number One hit around the world of
"You're The Voice", recorded by John Farnham, later
recorded by Chris with Alan
Parsons.
