Whitey Gomez played October 20 on a bill with Old 97's at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall. This show followed Whitey G's successful showcase at NXNW 1999, after which the band decided to take a bit of time off to regroup. Coming up on November 28 at S.F.'s Make Out Room, be sure to catch Whitey G frontman, Scout, in a solo opening slot for the band "86". Scout reports, "I'll be performing acoustic versions of WG songs and a handful of covers I like that never made the cut for WG's sets," and says that there's also a possibility of Will, WG Bassist Extraordinaire, joining the fray for a Ranchero Brothers style hootenanny, or something.
