The girls absoultely *love* No Motiv. Especially the leader singer. Why I don't know. I wanted to go see Piebald again, so it seemed like a good plan.
It took forever to find the place. It's in some old abnadon warehouse with a weird enterance that isn't labelled. The venue is just a big open factory floor with a makeshift stage thatkept shifting the whole night. We got there way too early cause the girls didn't want to miss any of No Motiv's set. We sat through some crappy local acoustic act. Hot Rod Circuit didn't grab me at all. But the guitarist seems like a pretty cool guy. Apparently the leader singer of "Jazz June" was there. "Jazz June" is another emo I started listening to that is pretty cool.
No Motiv came on and impressed me. They are a lot better live than they are on cd. They write good catchy songs that every punk girl must know the words to. The singer asked if anyone had the album. And of course the girls cheered. Melissa was the loudest and up front. The singer was impressed so he dedicated, "Solemn" to her. I thought she was going to die.
Between bands she talked with them and took pictures with them.
Then Piebald came on. I was very impressed yet again with them. They are very intense and they have their sound down pack. The material off of the new album is pretty good. I even caught they mic stand when it was knocked over by the ever shifting stage.
