GREAT FRENCH FRY CONTRAVESARY.
Since I've been home, I am no longer forced to eat the fabalous school food. Instead, I'm now faced with paying $10 for extra values every night. So every night I search out the holy grail of french fries (and the cheapest deals!).
So let's start off with who is in the running for the greatest french fries.
1) McDonald's 2) Burger King 3) Wendy's 4) White Castle's 5) Roy Roger's and 6) Arby's. (In order to qualify, the restuarant must be a fastfood place. But I must take this time to mention that "Outback Steak House" has some damn good fries and onion blooms. I was going to add "Checker's" but I've never eaten there. Both of those places are out on the Island.)
First, no matter what Burger King does to it's fries, they will never taste good. Special Recipe my foot. What are they Kentucky Fried Chicken? I don't think so. Mr. Potato head better pull out of that endorsement before it hurts his career. People are going to start associating bad fries with him. Some advice for Mr. Potato Head: Get out while you are ahead. Fake your death or something. We known that you are the master of disguises.
Being a Bronx native, White Castle's fries are some of the best fries I've ever eaten. Belly Bombers all the way! They don't get my highest rating just because once you leave NYC, you can't a freakin one.
Same problem with Roy Roger's. Roy's fries are all right. But then again, I haven't seen one around in a while. They probably went out of business. Still better than Burger King though.
Wendy's and Mr. Dave Thomas. After eating there last night, I realized that they make some really good fries. They are more like steak fries, which most fast food places don't make. They are different from all the rest, which I guess, makes them so good. Maybe if Dave invites me over for lunch some day, I will change my vote, but until that day comes, they are my third favorite.
Arby's curly fries... why are they so weird looking? The first time I saw curly fries was in junior high school and I thought the cook had messed up really bad making the fries. Then one day I walk into Arby's and my whole world changed. I've never looked at fries like this. The fries are spirals! And they were good! They might have had first if it wasn't for the Arby's Cortland, which always serves me COLD FRIES! Aren't french fries suppose to be served hot? Hmm......
So the final count is: 6) Burger King 5) Roy Roger's 4) White Castle's 3) Wendy's 2) Arby's and the winner and still undefeated champion... McDonald's.
McDonald's has some gooood fries! French fries at their finest. When you first get your meal, you sit down and eat your fries first before they get cold. You have to eat them Piping Hot!
So I continue eating my McDonald's fries everyday and getting fatter, hoping you enjoy Cortland's school food. Til next week, eat hearty!
