Useless Bantering
03/24/98

Unpatriotic circles under my eyes. The lights are dim. Whispers and hushes fill my ears. Tabletops are covered with colored drinks. The band strikes up a wicked tempo. The trumpets sound like seperent sirens calling for the blood of a new victim. The drums carry on an outrageous beat. Manifest the energy eminating from the orchestra. Then there is the pale break for silence.
Whispers once again then fill the air. Papers ruffle and chairs creak. People wonder what is to come. The lights dim and the next performer takes the stage. Panic attacks with a choking grip. Forceful play titles the next skit, "The End As We Know It." Dead silence in the background. Not a peep. Unmatched fame profusely bleeds a wound. Traveling takes you to the lakes. Breath in the scenery. Deep fryer involvement. Hush. 50 cent sodas along with the party favors. Reprieved of the saints. The fire burns my house down so cleanly. Not a trace of the unkempt floors and the unwashed dishes. High rollers applaud the bust. The best of it's kind. Escorted to the anniversary. "classic," they said. Double your fun. Spring fling common outlets, outrageous charges. Fetish is stylish. Pill pusher reigns terror on mothers everywhere.
Foster child with the Holy Grail, purity in a drink. Years since one has been to quench my throat. Underground patterns fill the horizion. Tuperware filled with numbers and editorals. Little man lyrics show the faults in all of man's plans. Sad though, their time was not yet. Forward tears reverse the waiting period.
Amber bites her lip. Terrified of the performance. Kelly sitting next to her, is also terrfied. The gleam in her eye twinkles. The sweat blinds her. When she wipes her eyes and her brow, she doesn't believe her eyes. She twitches and shakes. Every move scaring the people around her. The usher comes over to see the problem. He pulls out his 45 and bucks her dead on the spot. Everyone in the audience including Amber sat in shock for a moment. Never before had they experienced something of this magitude before.
The hands began to clap. "Bravo!" proclaim the crowd. 1
