FIGUEIRO'S GAMMA RAY DREAMLAND

Welcome to my GAMMA RAY homepage.The group was founded in early 89 by ex-HELLOWEEN fabulous guitarrist and composer Kai Hansen, and released in 1989 their first album:HEADING FOR TOMMORROW.

This album featured some of the band classics, like the titletrack itself ( a 14 minutes long epic ), the ballad THE SILENCE (which was later re-recorded with the LAND OF THE FREE line-up on the EP SILENT MIRACLES), Lust for life and HEAVEN CAN WAIT.

After this album the band released an EP called HEAVEN CAN WAIT.Their next album, SIGH NO MORE, was much heavier and darker than the previous one.

SIGH NO MORE, as it's predecessor, brought to their fans some great compositions, like the fantastic ONE WITH THE WORLD, and the impressive dark DREAM HEALER.The line-up for this record featured ULI KURSH in the drums, who later went to HELLOWEEN.

The band's next release, INSANITY & GENIUS, reached the stores in 1993, and featured the headbanger's dream song FUTURE MADHOUSE, which included an almost neverending series of guitar solos.

This was the last album featuring RALPH SHEEPERS at the vocals.The band's next release, LAND OF THE FREE featured KAI HANSEN vocals much better than those from HELLOWEEN's early days.

That album stabilished the band themselves as one of the major forces not omly in the POWER METAL genre, but in the HEAVY METAL scene.

In 1997 the band confirmed the status of one of the major bands in today's HEAVY METAL.SOMEWHERE OUT IN SPACE brought no evolution to the band's sound, but kept the high quality from the previous album.

This album featured the magnificent VALLEY OF THE KINGS, MEN, MARTIANS AND MACHINES, THE WINGED HORSE and the titletrack itself.Great stuff.

1999.POWERPLANT.This album brings to the fans a heavier gamma ray than the previous albuns, but not less melodic songs.One of the best gamma ray albuns so far, and maybe, the beggining of a new stage in their career.

This album features some new masterpieces as the fabulous WINGS OF DESTINY ( my favorite one! ), ANYWHERE IN THE GALAXY, SEND ME A SIGN, HAND OF FATE and ARMAGEDDON.It's a must for GAMMA RAY fans.
