What to do what to do
Ok, you’re at your final years of high school and everything feels pretty average, in fact it feels great when you think about it. Those few years are going to fly ahead of you before you know it but the question always lies “what do you want to do when you finish?” It seems to be a very hard question to most. I think that 50 percent of us aren’t even too sure. I’m 21 years old now and my heart is still in limbo about what I want to do to support what I really love. I’d get pretty sad about it sometimes because I’d be so overwhelmed about my future and the possibilities that are out there. My family on my father’s side don’t believe that you can make money just out of music, which isn’t entirely true. You could work at a CD store under a pretty nice wage and still be able to get by along with all of the gigs you’d probably do. Artists get paid quite nicely at venues – they could earn at least 300 – 500 Australian Dollars just for working that one night, entertaining the crowd and expressing themselves. I don’t think for a second That there really is such thing as a “career path” or a “career” It’s about enjoying life for yourself and getting by in your own way. A way in which you are happy with. Mum would probably agree with me. My father would just want to be proud of me. Inside I think he is afraid that I might end up being this low life drop kick. Maybe a lot of parents are these days. They always want what is best and part of it is for us kids and teenagers to be happy. The word Career doesn’t seem to go into today’s vocabulary or mine. But there is such thing as a job, a job than can support your crafty dreams. You need the money to be able to end up living them and no matter what happens or what people say you must be driven in any situation. You don’t really need to impress your family members. If they don’t believe in you or think you can do it time may be able to change that. What you want to do is up to YOU. But don’t leave it before it’s too late. Remember the older you get the harder it is going to be when you get older especially when you’re looking for work. |
