Hey all you MANIACS! Don't waste another second: become an active participant of the Library and perform your "maniacal duty" by nominating YOUR favorite fan fiction for The MANIAC Award! This award is given to works which are superior in their field, reaching above and beyond tradition, convention, and cliché. The true motivation behind this award is to recognize those authors who've invested a genuine part of themselves -blood, sweat, and tears- in their craft. To aid in the longevity of fan fic as an art of expression, we encourage you to send your nominations via email after reading the outline below.

There are only a few basic rules/requirements to the application for this award, and they are as follows.....

1. Piece must be an original work of the author.

2. Piece must exhibit originalty and creativity.

3. You (the author) or reader may nominate a story.

4. The piece MUST be finished.

5. Quality. The key word in this whole ordeal, please submit only the best of the best. I receive an average of 15 to 20 nominations a week, and that is A LOT of reading material. Help make my job easier by nominating only the cremé de la cremé. If you're nominating a story for the MANIAc Award, chances are you've spent a fair amount of time perusing our shelves. That said, be honest with yourself. Is the work you are submitting on par with, if not better than, the stories you've read here? Use that concept as a "ruler" to see if your favorite story measures up.

TO NOMINATE A STORY....

1. Send an email to the address at the bottom of this page, stating why you think the story should receive the MANIAc Award. Emails which provide good explanation regarding the quality and impact of the work in question will get priority...hey, wouldn't you read a piece someone was raving about, first? Thought so.

2. In the same email, remember to state the title and the author of the piece.

3. Give the site address where this work of fiction may be found. All nominees must be posted on a website.

IF YOU WIN THE AWARD.....

You will be sent a congratulatory email and the award itself to post on your webpage. Do not give this award code out to anyone else, with the exception of the person(s) who may host your story. Make sure they understand that the award is only to be placed on the page on which your story appears. If and when you receive the award, please let us know that you have. Your name and the site where your story may be found will be posted in MANIA under the award winners section, along with a short review.
