Chapter 4: Together Again
"Alanis, do you have ants on your pants?" Cody said looking at his friend strangely who was hopping up and down with the biggest smile in the world on her face. Alanis just smiled bigger. "Stop that, your face might just stick that way" Cody said. Alanis laughed a little evil laugh. "Come on!" Alanis said pulling on Cody's arm. She couldn't wait until she saw her best friend again. "Alright, alright. I'm coming, I'm coming, you don't have to rip my arm off" Cody said with a laugh. Alanis smiled at Cody's dark humor. "Come on or I'm gonna go without you" Alanis stopped and crossed here arms. "Go with out me Alanis, and you won't have a ride home," Cody said stepping beside his friend. Alanis laughed. "Gosh Alanis, I've never seen you smile and laugh this much since Brett dressed up as a poodle and shouted 'Merry Christmas!' to every question he was asked." Cody said raising an eyebrow at Alanis, "You must be really happy to see this guy…you must've had a really GOOD relationship while you were in Ohio" Alanis elbowed Cody in the side. "OW!" Cody shouted as they walked toward the backstage area. "Oh shush Cody" Cody stuck his tongue out at Alanis. "Get yourself a chick, Cody, there's plenty here" "Now it's your turn to shush sista" "Blah, Cody, blah"
Alanis groaned as she saw the big crowd that was in front of her for backstage. "That is a BIG line," Cody said with a little laugh. "ZAC!" Alanis shouted over the crowd.
Zac looked up as someone shouted his name. The voice sounded so familiar to him. "ZAC!" Alanis shouted again and got dirty looks from the other girls that were there. "ZAC!" Then a blonde girl turned around and looked Alanis straight in the eye "Look here bitch," she said, "Zac is mine, so you just shut your little horny ass before I use you to wipe up the floor" "Yeah right" "Look I eat shit like YOU for breakfast" "You eat shit for breakfast? That's nasty!" The girl scowled and turned around. Then she whispered something to a couple other girls and the other girls turned around with evil in their eyes. Alanis noticed they all wore "Zaccy-poo Fan Club" T-shirts. "Leave Zac alone" "Zac's ours and he's never gonna be yours so lay your dirty hands off him" "You little whore, you don't mess with Hanson. No one does but us" Alanis frowned at the girls but she just pushed by one of them and walked on her way. The first one grabbed her arm. As if by instinct, Alanis grabbed the girl's wrist and twisted it as hard as she could digging her fingernails into the blonde's skin. The girl's face twisted in pain. Alanis could feel the girl's blood start to drip on her fingernails. "You leave Zac outta this, Zac is not yours you dirty low down bitch, he will never be, and I'm not saying he's mine either. So go punch an Isaac fan in the face and make them bawl their eyes out. See if I care. But you leave Zac out of this" Alanis growled and released the girl's arm. The girl was in near tears as she ran away dragging her friends behind her.
"ZAC!"
Zac stood up this time, looking over the crowd for who said his name. There was a hand waving up and down above the heads of about fifty girls. Zac smiled gently and decided to go meet this fan of his. He pushed past a few girls then was caught for a minute 'She's only a few feet away now' he thought and pushed his way through he crowd.
"ZAC!" Alanis shouted as Zac made his way through the girls.
Then he saw her. Her black hair shone like a lake enveloped in moonlight, her lips were red like roses and her eyes were iced blue. He gasped so deeply when he saw her. She smiled gently and sniffed with the oncoming tears. "Hello Zac" she said quietly as a tear trickled down her pale cheek. Zac stood there with astonishment then ran forward and took Alanis in his arms. He stood there for he didn't know how long with tears streaming down his cheeks as he nuzzled her neck making sure she was real. He stood there holding the angel, the angel that had brought his life and love back with her presence. He didn't care who stared and he didn't care how much the fans whispered behind his back. All he cared about was Alanis and the prize he held so tightly in his arms.
