Chapter 4: What's On Your Mind?

Both with frowns on their faces Zac and Tay came in the door pulling mattresses and wet blankets in their boxers. Ike looked up from his book to grin and say," did you sleep well my dear brothers?" Each brother had his own dirty look to give Ike. They would get him back someday.

Alanis looked through her Delias catalog. She needed new clothes and fast. Something special was about to happen and she had a strong feeling about it too.

Zac had a feeling to get dressed in nicer clothes for something was about to happen. He pulled on jeans and a blue shirt and decided to go for a walk around Tulsa.

Alanis felt a signal run through her head. She changed her clothes, brushed her hair and threw on a pink cotton jacket and started for a walk around.
Zac felt the wind blow through his hair. He started humming "Thinking of You" and "Madeline" then "MMMBop". Then all of the sudden he fell to the ground. He had bumped into someone then he had fallen. "Here" a voice said thrusting a hand in Zac's face, "Let me help you up" Zac looked up to see a familiar face with pale skin, blue eyes and black hair. "I'm so sorry," the girl said. "It's alright, " Zac said as he brushing himself off, "I've had worse things happen to me this morning" The girl laughed. "My name is Alanis," she said. Zac learned a lot about Alanis as they took a walk through the neighborhood. She had a great sense of humor as he could tell because he laughed more at her jokes than at Ike. She was kind but she was shy and sensitive too. Mostly sensitive about a secret she held deep inside herself.
'I wish I could talk to him but I'm afraid'
'I wish she wouldn't be so scared of me'
'Huh?'
'What the…?'
'You can hear me?'
'Uh, yeah'
'Oh boy'
'We're telepathic?'
'Obviously'
"Uhhhhhhhhh…" was all Zac could say to his new found talent and new found friend. "How did we do that?" Zac asked. Alanis's eyes grew wide and she gave a slight shake of the head. "I haven't gotten that far in training yet." She said. "Training? Are you from that psychic school?" Zac asked. Alanis blushed. "Yeah," she said keeping her eyes to the ground.
'I like you Zac'
'I like you too Alanis'
Then they walked back to Zac's house hand in hand
