Gremlins: Evil Psychotic killers or just misunderstood?

Now, as you all probably know, Gremlins was on the other night and being the 80's classic that it is, I had to watch it (plus it is one of my old favourites).  Anyway, I began to think about how poorly the Gremlins are treated.  Okay so they might cruise around town killing a few people and go after the main character with a gun and crossbow but as if they didn't deserve it.  Also they are always laughing so how evil can they really be?  I think the Gremlins are just misunderstood and a little bit cranky and who wouldn't' be?  Not being able to bathe or eat after midnight, and by the way, what it with that rule?  When do they get to start eating again?  Anyway back to my point, they are just cranky and all they want to do is have some fun, like when they are at the pub or whatever it is, having a good time playing poker, dancing and just chilling with their friends.  Oh, and how book did the chick one with the earrings and the one with the leg warmers look!  Then there is also the part where they go to the movies and are just happily minding their own business, watching Snow White, completely loving it and singing along to "hi, ho, hi, ho" when they get blown up.  Okay yeah you might be saying "but what about the evil one with the hair?"  Well I say he is just misunderstood.. He was just pissed because he had to watch his posse get slaughtered with kitchen appliances and then when he jumped into the pool to makes some new friends to chill with, they got blown up watching Snow White.  I also think that death by melting was a little harsh.  Gremlins are just misunderstood and like my brother said, "they are just like monkey's, only ugly," and everyone knows monkeys are cool.
