Bree's Musical Influences

My musical tastes run from Bush to the Dixie Chicks, so I have a wide variety of styles to choose from to incorporate into my music. I am actually more of a lyricist than a composer (see collaborators for the unlucky people I corralled to help me! Hey, they *offered*...hehe!), but my lyrics do reflect my eclectic music taste. My favourite band by far is The Beach Boys (who will soon have their own section of the Jeweled Sceptre page!), and I often try to write in a style similar to theirs from the late-60's, '70's, and '80's. However, being from Toronto, songs about beaches and California sunshine are difficult to write! My style most often resembles that of Fleetwood Mac, although I must point out that my song "Rhiannon" is not meant to copy their legendary song of the same name. As for the musical structure of my songs, the few tunes that I have been able to construct with my limited musical abilities have been very much a mixture of every genre.

The bottom line? I am the ultimate Beach Girl!!
