-Ben says that he is The Man when it comes to ladies...or at least he tries
-Birthdate- Wednesday, October 24th, 1979. He is 20 years old, presently.
-Tall- he is 5'8"
-Hands-he's left-handed
-Family- Mother- Annette. Father- David, who is a plumber. Sister- He has an older sister named Kristy.
-Pets- Ben says he doesn't have any pets of his own, although his sister has two birds.
-Equipment- Pearl drums, Sabian cymbols. Ben got his first drumset from an older teenager across the street for $75. He breaks 16-18 drumsticks each gig...
-Favorite Movie- Same movie as Chris. Trainspotting. Maybe Ben and Chris saw it together. Other movies Ben has enjoyed are Shawshank Redemption, The Game, Austin Powers (yeah, we know why he likes that one!!), Major Payne, and Electric Blue.
-Lyrics- Daniel and Ben write some lyrics together. Both received the award for "Australian -Songwriters Of The Year" at the Apra Awards in Sydney.
-Music Preferences- Helmet, Soundgarden, Quicksand and Led Zepplin (of course!). Recently, Ben has gotten into some dance music such as Crystal Method, Junky XL, and Death In Vegas.
-Nickname- "Gillies" and "Short Elvis" because Ben was (and still is) the shortest of the 3 silverchair guys and when he was younger, he liked Elvis Presley a lot!
-What He Doesn't Like- Reading. "It sucks. It's sooo boring!"
-The Shine- Ben shaved his head after his hair got in the way of his drumming during a performance. However, he said it hadn't improved his drumming any.
-Car- Ben drives a Holden Commodore. It's sort of like a Chevy-- Ben said it's like a Chevy, but it's in fact a white station wagon with tinted windows.
-Hygiene- Ben used to have braces.
-Favorite Food- Ben says, "Pizza!"
-A Genius, Really? WOW!- Ben used to take advanced math, but after the band started touring, he dropped the class.
-Least Favorite School Subject- English...which happens to be Daniel's favorite subject.
-Another fact about Ben and how smart he is- He takes Marine Studies!
-Ben's said to snore really loud when he's sleeping
In the 'Slave' video, it looks like he has a tattoo on his arm, but when asked about it, he said that it was only magic marker.
- Seems to be the one in the band who has the biggest fixtation on females.
- Also seems to be the biggest fan of sex related things in the band (well, him and Daniel tie) Funny thing: one of his quotes are "What does 'scored' mean?"
-He thinks of himself as "the most sensible one in the band" Heheh...
-Daniel says he's the "most wildest and perverted"
-Chris says "you DON'T want to hear Ben sing"
-He can burp the starting of the alphabet (okay?!?!)
Ben thinks that teenyboppers are majorly mental. (Yeah!)

-He used to play basketball for Port Hunter, his uniform was black with yello letters.

-Ben's dream date is Pamela Lee, but since she's taken, it's Alicia Silverstone.

-Ben's first drumming memories- "I started playing when I was about eight years old and bought my first drum kit for $75. It wasn't too bad and I went on to sell it for $380, so I got a pretty good deal. I got lessons for a few years and learnt all the technical stuff. When we started getting into Led Zeppelin, I used to try to copy the simpler John Bonham parts on their records."
-What Ben Wants To Say About Himself- "Hi. My name is Ben Gillies. I am 5 foot something. I weigh 67 kilos. I like water sports, fishing. I like playing my drum kit at home. I like hanging with my friends."

-Ben allegedly wants to be a gynecologist. Ben has expressed interest in becoming some type of doctor several times, but his grades aren't good enough.
