The Number Of The Beast is one of the most highly regarded Metal record of all time. It was released on March 29, 1982. Once again a different sound from the previous release, due to a new vocalist to the band. A vocalist who would forever impact the band greatly. Bruce Dickinson, from the band Samson, would go on to replace Paul Di'Anno. The Number Of The Beast was another aggressive record, which saw more powerful song writing than Killers, or Iron Maiden. The Number of The Beast was home to such epic Maiden tunes as, Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Prisoner, and Run To The Hills. Singles to come from The Number Of The Beast, were, Run To The Hills, and the title track of the LP, The Number Of The Beast. The album would go on to rattle the cages of religious fanatics who proposed Iron Maiden as Satan worshippers. They would burn Iron Maiden records and run in fear from the fumes. A prime example of what kind of idiots Iron Maiden were up against. Little did these fanatics know that the song The Number of the Beast, was actually written about a nightmare, and also in part, of the movie, The Omen. Little did they know that Iron Maiden were far from being Satan worshippers. Religious fanatics did not stop Maiden from another world tour onslaught though. "The Beast On The Road" World Tour was 180 dates long. Australia got to see Iron Maiden for the first time on this tour. Bands that toured with Maiden included, Judas Priest, The Scorpions, Rainbow, and .38 Special. Line up of the band was Bruce Dickinson (vocals), Steve Harris (bass), Adrian Smith (guitar), Dave Murray (guitar), and Clive Burr (drums).
