Book Of Rap Lists-October 1999
On November 9 Egotrip's Book of Rap Lists will be released. The book will contain lists of greatest mc's, and personal favorite lists of many rap artists.

Noreaga's Thugged Out Clothes-September 1999
Noreaga has plans to launch his own clothing line entitled "Thugged Out." He hopes to have the clothes in stores "soon."

Method Man and Redman in a Movie-September 1999
Method Man and RedMan will co-produce,co-direct and star in a movie that will be released by Universal Pictures in the Winter of 2000. In the movie Method Man and RedMan attend an ivy league college. While in college, the duo learns as well as teaches the students a few things.

Family Values Tour-August 1999
Limp Bizkit will headline at the second annual Family Values tour. The tour will feature Run DMC,Method Man and Redman,Filter,Crystal Method and Staind. Run DMC will perform on the first half of the tour then Methodman and Reman will take over to complete the second half of the dates.For more information check out the events section of this website.

Untertainment Loses Distribution
If you have been waiting for Charli Baltimore and Cam'Ron albums to be released, then you better get used to waiting. Untertainment's distributor Epic Records has dropped the label. This means that the albums releases will probably be postponed indefinately. In order to release any new albums Untertainment will have to look for a new distributor and it's anyones guess how long that will take.

The Lox Leave Bad Boy-August 1999
This month The LOX decided to make it very clear that they wanted to leave Bad Boy Records in favor of their managment's label Ruff Ryders Records. The LOX and friends showed up to a New York Radio Station Summer Jam wearing RuffRyder Shirts with a clear message to Sean "Puffy" Combs saying "Let The LOX Go". The CEO of Bad Boy Entertainment, Sean Combs is now in the process of selling The LOX to Ruff Ryders/Interscope Records. Sean "PuffDaddy" Combs says that he still thinks that The LOX are one of the hottest rap groups out, but there deal unfortunatly did just not work out.

Source Awards Winners-August 1999
The Souce Awards were held on August 18 1999 in Los Angeles California. Performers included Puff Daddy,Huricane G,Nas,and Flavor Flav-Lauryn Hill-The Hoy Boys-Busta Rhymes and the Flipmode Squad-Snoop Dogg,Xzibit,and Nate Dogg. The winners were: Artist of the year-Outkast,Best Solo Artist and Best Performer of the year-DMX,Best New Artist-Lauryn Hill, Single of the year-"Ha"-Juvenile,Movie of the Year-Belly,Athlete of the Year-Shaquielle O' Neal Lifetime Achievment Award-Russel Simmons.

No Limit Tour-August 1999

Q-Tip and Movies-August 1999
Q-Tip formerly of a Tribe Called Quest has plans to star in a movie he has co-written entitled Prison Song. The movie will star Q-Tip,Noreaga, and Mary J. Blige. Q-Tip also has a solo album entitled Amplified that will be in stores in November.

Dr. Dre and Death Row-August 1999
Dr. Dre has filed a law suit against his former record label Death Row Records. Dr. Dre is suing Death Row for their use of the title "Chronic 2000:Still Smokin'" on their last compilation. Dr. Dre claims that the "Chronic" title is part of his trademarkand that Death Row's title infringes on his rights. He is also asking for the withdrawl of any "Chronic" merchandise.

Mobb Deep,Nas,Lil' Cease and Movies-July 1999
Mobb Deep has recently said that it plans to produce a film to go along with their upcoming album Murda Muzik. Rumors suggest that Nas and Lil' Cease will will star in the movie and that most of the action will revolve around their characters. As for the album it will feature Nas,Lil' Kim,Eightball and others.

DMX,Aaliyah,Jet Li in a Movie-July 1999
DMX,Aaliyah,and Jet Li will star in a reworking of Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet entitled Romeo Must Die. DMX will play a clubowner named Silk,Jet Li will play Han Sung a martial arts master,Aaliyah will play Trish,Han Sung's love intrest. The movie is set to be released by the end of this year.

Busta Rhymes Footwear-July 1999
On Tuesday July 13,Busta Rhymes unveiled his new line of footwear. The footwear will be Made and distributed by GBX footwear. The footwear will be called Bushi by GBX footwear and will be in stores this fall.

DMX Arrested-July 1999
On July 10,1999 DMX was performing in the country of Trinidad in the Port of Spain. DMX soon found out that it is illegal to use profanity publicly in the country of Trinidad. DMX claimed that he was not aware that it was illegal to use profanity. Because it was illegall and in the contract DMX wasarrested and later released. and began to head back home to the United Staes.

Puff Daddy and Bad Boy Tour-July 1999
With the release of many new albums this summer Puff Daddy is planning a fall tour in support of his labels albums. The tour is planned to start some time in November and will feature Lil' Kim,Lil'Cease,Puff Daddy and the Bad Boy Famliy.

DMX Arrested-June 1999
DMX and his wife Tashara were arrested when they turned themselves in two days after having their home searched. His home was searched as part of the investigation of the shooting of Ray Copeland,DMX's manager. The police have not yet stated whether DMX is a suspect in the case. Authorities that searched the home confiscated a Tec-9 semi-automatic handgun,bullet clip, bullet proof vest,14 point bullets and 14 pit bulls. DMX and his wife were charged with possesion of a weapon,hollow nosed bullets,high capacity magazine,and drug paraphanelia. DMX was released on $50,000 bail,his wife was released on $2,500 bail.

PuffDaddy and Steve Stoute-June 1999
Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs was involved in an alleged attack on Columbia Executive Steve Stoute. The event allegedly took place when Puffy was angered at the airing of the Nas video "Hate Me Now" which featured a crucifixion scene with Puffy. Recently Puffy and Stoute have settled out of court for a rumored $500,000.

Dame Grease and Hip Hop Documentary-June 1999
Dame Grease has plans to produce a hip-hop documentary and sound track .The film and soundtrack will be entitled "Live on Lennox". It will feature appearances by DMX,The LOX,HarlemWorld,Noreaga. The "Vacant Lot Production" has still no release date.

Ice Cube and Next Friday-June 1999
Ice Cube is in the process of filming the highly anticipated sequel to his blockbuster film Friday.The sequel will be entitled Next Friday and will unfortanetly not feature Chris Tucker.With Ice Cube writing,producing,starring and producing in the film the movie will no doubt be a major success.Ice Cube has also enlisted Mega music video director Steve Carr to direct the film.The story begins when Dibo is released rom jail and wants to come look for Cube. Ice Cube is forced to move to move in with his uncle who has recently bought a house with his lottery winnings.
