Guatemala Help Week
Volunteer house building trip to Guatemala
May 13 - 22, 2009
Hey everyone! I am returning to Guatemala this May for the second annual Guatemala Help Week house build.

For those of you who helped me last year, thank you so much. It was a truly amazing time, and I am looking forward to spending another week providing a home for a deserving family.
This year, I am helping coordinate the trip...well really, trips. Last year was the first time our group went to Guatemala. We had five volunteers and raised money to build one house. This year, we are going on two team trips and building 3 houses total. We also have a more diverse group of people joining us this year. Community members and students will be working together on this year's projects.

Trip 1: May 4 - 13, 2009

I'm so proud of the commitment of our volunteers and the support we have gotten within the community. What I am asking from you is for financial support, which will cover the cost of building the house first, and if I raise enough, it will also help cover my travel and lodging expenses.

$15,000 = TOTAL TRIP COST
$1,000 per volunteer ($600 for house costs, $400 for travel expenses)
*We raised money within the church, which helped lower the individual fundraising obligations.

If you are interested in helping me reach my goal, there are a few ways to donate. Below is a flyer that we distributed in our church (yes, the trip is through my church; no, it's not a mission trip). It includes information on donation levels (we set up some perks) and the mailing address for the church if you'd like to send funds straight to St. Andrew's. I have to give the money to them anyway, so this saves me a step!

I have also set up a PayPal account to receive money if that's easier (link at the top of the page). Or if you prefer, I can accept checks. E-mail me if you need my mailing address!

Thank you so much for checking out my page! Keep me in your thoughts and prayers!
