SOUND QUALITY RATINGS (SQ)
SQ5 - EXCELLENT : First class recording usually recorded direct from the soundboard/mixing desk.
SQ4 - GOOD : Usually recorded direct from the radio / television. Occasional broadcast 'fuzz/hiss' can be detected; otherwise still a great sounding recording. SQ3 - AVERAGE : Sounds alright, slightly lacking in clarity but still worth listening to. Possibly a higher generation copy or originally recorded on average equipment.
SQ2 - POOR : Usually recorded by a member of the audience. Suffers from bass distortion, excessive treble hiss, and the sound of the surrounding audience drowns out the band. For serious collectors only.
SQ1 - There are no adjectives to describe how truly awful this recording sounds. Desperate collectors only.
