The Contest

Today was friday night. I was listening to the hot30.com countdown with my friend Maryellen (who is visiting me for a year and she's from the US). You see, i entered the countdown's weekly competition which is a trip for you and your friend to the UK to meet and hangout with Steps.  Then Kyle the dj said 'Ok, if we are calling you right now, you are the winner of the Steps competition.

Then suddenly my phone rang 'Oh my god!' i screamed out. 'Answer it, Jamie!' yelled Maryellen. Then i picked the phone and said nervously 'Hello?'. Then Kyle said 'Is this Jamie Galsim?'. 'The only one' i replied. 'This is Kyle & Jackie from hot30.com. Do you have any idea why we're calling' asked Kyle. 'Yes i know why. Because i won the Steps comp didn't i?' i asked. 'Yes u did! You and a friend a flying over to the UK and meet & hangout with Steps' yelled Kyle. 'OH MY WORD! AHHHHH' I screamed. 'Thank you sooo much!'. 'How big of a Steps fan are you?' asked Jackie. 'I'm a HHUGGEE fan and so is my friend' i said excitedly. 'Congratulations, girl!' said Jackie. 'Thank you soooooooooo much!'. 'Hang on for a minute' said Kyle (since he was on-air). 'K' i said simply.

'Here's the No.1 song, 'The One' Backstreet Boys' said Kyle and played the song and pressed the mic off.


'Ok, here are the details. Steps' tour manager is going to call you tonight and talk to your parents if that's ok with you and he will organise everything. For the plane tickets, you have to meet us with your friend at the airport to get them and you will hangout with them for 1-2 months and while you're there, call us and tell us what's going on with the band and everything. Is that pretty understanding?' said Kyle.
'Yeah sure, that's totally fine!' i said happily.
'Ok great so have fun with Steps' said Jackie.
'Oh we will!' I said and hanged up.
'Well?' asked Maryellen anxiously.
I told every bit of info then the Steps tour manager phoned up and talked to my parents and they were ok with everything.

~*~HEATHROW AIRPORT (already! LOL)~*~
'oh my gosh, look at the size of this place' said Maryellen as we got our stuff from the converior belt. 'I know. We better get used to this' I said. Then Johnny (steps tour manager) said that they'll be a limo waiting for them outside and a man will be holding their names. We found it and we both meet Johnny and got in limo and headed for the hotel. He said that Steps are at a gig right now and they'll be back later.
We checked in the hotel (which was enormous, btw) and hung out in our room. Then an hour later when we got there, there was a knock on the door.  'Jamie, can you answer the door' Maryellen yelled from the bathroom. 'Ok' i yelled back. I turned off the TV and walked to the door. I opened the door and there stood H & Lee. I almost fainted. I had the hots for H and Maryellen has the hots for Lee.

I invited them in because of course Maryellen was in the bathroom. When she came out of the bathroom, she tried her best not to do anything stupid. She looked like I did, only more surprised. The guys just smiled and introduced themselves. When introductions were over, I asked them where the rest of the group were.
'Oh, they're waiting in the limo downstairs. We came here to invite you to lunch with us. We haven't eaten anything yet and i know how gross the plane food must be' said H and made a incredibly stupid face which made me laugh because it was sooo cute:)
'So wanna join us?' asked Lee.
'Sure why not!' said Maryellen. So we grabbed our sunglasses and went out of the room. Oh my god, this is like a dream come true! I've always wanted to meet Steps and stuff like that. This has got to be the BEST year ever!
When we came to the limo, Claire, Faye & Lisa came out greeted us. Then we headed to this mini cafe'.  We talked about heaps of stuff like what's it like being famous to favourites. We talked for an hour but then they had a sound check for tonight's concert and they invited us. Of course we couldn't resist the offer.

When they were having their soundcheck, me and Maryellen were backstage & sang along to their songs. Then suddenly, we sang 'When I Said Goodbye'. When we finished singing, i looked around and saw Lee chuckling.

'What?' asked Maryellen

'Were we really that bad?' i asked.

'No, actually you were really great' said Lee.

'Thanx' we both said.

'Anyway, finished sound check yet?' asked Maryellen.

'Yeah, after H's song is done' said Lee.

'H'S SONG?, OOH I BETTER HAVE A LOOK AT THIS!!' i said and raced down to the audience area.

'Lemme guess, Jamie loves H' said Lee knowingly.

'Oh yeah definitely. It's been her dream to meet you guys for 3 years especially H' said Maryellen.

'What about you?' said Lee with a smile on his face.

'What about me?' asked Maryellen.

'Is it your dream to meet me?' asked Lee

'Could be, you never know!' said Maryellen.

Then Faye appeared and said 'Hey guys, H is almost finished so better head down there'.

'Ok' said both of them and went down to wait for H.

When Faye, Maryellen & Lee to meet up with the others they found H chasing me around the arena!

'HAHA, H! YOU'LL NEVER GET IT BACK!!' i yelled out to H as he chased me.

'YEAH RIGHT! I'M A BETTER RUNNER THAN YOU ARE!' yelled H.

The others laughed and Lee asked 'What happend to those two?'

'Jamie ran away with H's mic so he's chasing her around' said Lisa laughing

'Why didn't he just get another one?' asked Maryellen.

'He said...you know what?, i don't know why!' said Claire.

'Guys, don't you get it? I think they have thing for each other' said Faye

'Ya don't say' said Lee and stared to me & H.

I was running really fast and i couldn't see H anywhere because i was looking at the back of me. Then when i turned around, i bumped into H and we both fell down! It was like a bowling ball hitting down a pin. Then when H saw me, he picked up his mic and said 'Aha! Got it!'. I was about to stand and ran away but H stopped and pulled me down to the ground and said 'And for you...hhmmm...what should i give you for punishment'. 'No don't even think about it!' i said. Then he started tickling me.

'IAN WATKINS!!! STOP IT' i yelled laughingly

'I DON'T THINK SO!!' yelled H laughing harder.

'Oi H, We gotta go and do an interview, mate!' yelled Lee.

'What now??' whined H and he was still torturing me.

'Yes now c'mon and let the hot bird go!' yelled Lee and he could himself blushing.

'Oh Fine' said H as he released me.

I ran over to Lee and hugged him and i said in a valley-girl voice 'You're My Hero!'

"What about me?" asked H.

"Maybe you'll be my hero later" i said and gave him a wink.

"Oohhhh!" said H excitedly and ran over to us so we can go out to limo.

"What IS going on with those two??" asked Claire as they saw me and H were playing stupid competitions of our own.

"Fast Movers" mumbled Lee.

"Lee's right...well at least H doesn't have to keep saying that he needs someone to cuddle up too!" said Maryellen.

Then they went to another interview but after that they dropped us back to the hotel because they had a signing session @ HMV and they didn't want us to be bored.

3 hours later

Oh my god, this is sooo boring!. We gotta do something fun. We almost did everything that's fun but not fun enough said Maryellen.

I know...what are we going to do......I've got it! i said.

'What?' asked Maryellen. I told her what it was and it perfectly fun!

"We better get there!" said Maryellen and we got ready and went to the place.
