Chapter 5

"I'm not sure," Isaac said. "Why?"

"I've got to go see her," Taylor said as he walked to his closet and pulled out a duffel bag.

"What are we gonna tell mom and dad?" Isaac asked.

"You're going to tell them I'm sick," Taylor said as he threw some clothes in his bag.

"I'm coming with you," Isaac said.

"No," Taylor said. "It will look suspicious if both of us are gone."

"That's true," Isaac agreed. "Do you think they'll buy it?"

"Probably until tomorrow, but after that, I don't know yet," Taylor said as he picked up the phone. "Yes, when does the next flight for New York leave?"

"Tonight at six," the woman answered.

"I would like one ticket," Taylor said.

"Cash or charge?"

"Charge." Taylor gave the woman his credit card number and threw a baseball cap and sunglasses into his bag. "I think that's everything," he said as he glanced around.

"I just hope you know what you're doing," Isaac said.

"Of course I do," Taylor said. "How could I forget this?" he asked himself as he grabbed the picture of him and Jessi. "Any suggestions on how to help her?"

"Talk to her. Maybe you'll snap her out of it," Isaac said. "Wait a minute, where are you going to stay?"

"I don't know.....I guess a hotel," Taylor said.

"Why don't you stay with Christina?"

"I don't have time to call her," Taylor exclaimed. "It's five o'clock!"

"I'll call her, you, go!" Isaac said as he pushed Taylor out of the bedroom door.

"Isaac," Taylor said.

"What?"

"I just want to thank you for being so patient. I know I haven't been to agreeable lately."

"No you haven't," Isaac said and then smile. "What are brothers for?"

Taylor smiled and then Isaac shoved him out the front door.
