YOU CAN'T KILL ROCK N' ROLL is my tribute to ROCK CITY ANGELS.
If you are visiting this page, you probably already know the story of ROCK CITY ANGELS. However, if you don't know about them, you should! Back in the 1980s ROCK CITY ANGELS came out of nowhere to literally take over the Hollywood glam/sleeze scene. Their pictures were in every Hollywood music rag and their gigs were guaranteed to be standing room only! However there was one problem: Geffen had invested tons of money into GUNS N' ROSES and viewed RCA as a threat.
Mysteriously, a few days before ROCK CITY ANGELS' debut album was due out (on NEW RENAISSANCE RECORDS, who also put out the first album by SEPUTRUA), GEFFEN signed them! According to the rumors, NEW RENAISSANCE's owner was threatened numerous times and eventually decided it would be better to let the band go than risk death. The band, meanwhile, was airlifted to Tenessee where they would remain until GUNS AND ROSES' careers were on the skids.
What should have been the greatest rock band ever to come out of Hollywood was virtually kidnapped! However, rock fans don't forget things easily! This is my tribute! I will be adding other pix soon. Please come back and check out my page soon!
