Sade
Helen Folsade Adu fronted an outstanding group. Her vocals were
presented with the cool iciness of a jazz vocalist. With support from the rest of the band:
Stuart Matthewman on guitar and saxophone, Andrew Hale on keyboards and Paul S. Denman on bass, the
group Sade sounded very much like a jazz-rock combo. Over the course of 4 albums, this group
had created some outstandingly melodic and relaxing music!
An outstanding debut album, which was (also awarded a Grammy); Diamond Life featured several great songs, including:
"Your Love Is King," "Cherry Pie," "Sally," "Frankie's First Affair," "Hang On To Your Love," "When Am I Going To Make A Living" and "I
Will Be Your Friend." It also contained the classic: "Smooth Operator!" "Operator," "King" and "Hang On" can also be found on
The Best Of Sade.
Not as great an album as the debut. Promise featured: "Sweetest Taboo," "Is It a Crime" and "Jezebel" which can also be found on The Best!
Stronger Than Pride contained: "Paradise" which can also be found on The
Best Of Sade.
Love Deluxe featured: "No Ordinary Love" and "Pearls" which can also be found on
The Best Of Sade.
Sade's best album, this collection features many fantastic works, such as: "Smooth Operator" from
Diamond Life,"Jezebel," "Sweetest Taboo" and "Is It a Crime" from Promise, "Paradise" from
Stronger Than Pride and "No Ordinary Love" and "Pearls" from Love Deluxe.
