Analysis of how “How I got to where I am today”
Models the literary style of
Models the literary style of CausationCausation asks the questions of “Why?” and “Then what?”. The narrative of my theatre résumé follows through on telling the reader the causes and effects of where I am in Theatre today. The narrative clearly shows the results of actions taken by my theatrical endeavors. It shows how one situation gave rise to another. For example, the result of my working on Lyndsay’s first play eventually resulted in me currently being part of a production with another theatre company.
The steps taken were shared with the audience, not through the exclusive use of process writing but through the causation style. One event was shown to give rise to the opportunity for another event to occur. Those events were the causes for later events to take place. The narrative follows the idea of “and then ____ followed as a result of ____ “ and of “As a result this event made the next event happen”. The end result was shown to not been able to exist without the preceding events. One show gave rise to the next show and so on and so on. Connections of events were shown and explained, and those connections presented the opportunities for more events to result.
The narrative also depicts how with the isolation suffered during illness a desire was formed to socialize a great deal. Clearly depicted is how theatre offered an outlet for this desire to be filled easily.
The narrative shows events that lead to a caused outcome. The narrative also explores and answers the questions of why things happened the way that they did. The events were explored in sequence and explored the motivation behind those events. For example, the motivation to go out to the improve night was to avoid the feeling of isolation endured during illness, and the motivation behind the last audition for the current play was to have fun. The events were presented in chronological sequence to make clear the causes for all actions and occurrences to the audience. The chain of events was clearly shown in the paper. Modeling the style of causation the paper served the purpose of answering the questions of “What came next?” With clear reasoning and explanation of motivation behind those events. Causation should show clear links between events, and this paper accomplished that goal.
