Like a wild fire it sweeps through your being
Seeming like some force unstoppable
A force that seems to hold on to you so long without relenting
Why does it take you over so?
It does it to burn you from the inside out
Pretending at a first sighted love
Pretending at a love that will never end inside you
Only to crush hearts in the end

This is infatuation
A false heating of the blood
Distorting perceptions of the mind
And deceiving the heart

But eventually reason may overcome
Or interest may be lost
And it will be like icy waters dousing this wild flame of infatuation
