*Commentary of the additional tracks are on this page.
The first LP. Their roots are shown in this album. British invasion is also seen here. Early Beatle-like songs is solution of their intaking of the mersy beat. Though Harry says THE EASYBEATS are the R&B band in the early days, the sound heard on this album is clearly under a certain circumstances that covered UK in 1963-64. Beatle-like songs ("It's so easy" "I wonder" "Hey Girl" "A letter" "Girl On My Mind"), the guitar instrumental ("Easy Beat"), and the easy sound "She's So Fine") can be heard. But actually all of them are composed by THE EASYBEATS themselves. Wright/Young is credited on many tracks (shown above). Some other stuffs are composed by the members alone. Later Wright/Young song writing team is changed into Vanda/Young combination. Wright/Young songs are simpler and more powerful than Vanda/Young ones.
Those power spring up from their motivation as a rock'n roll band is charmingest point of THE EASYBEATS, I think. Of course, Vanda/Young songs are fine, too. Their chorus is not perfect but a little collapsing in most numbers. But it's really exiting and charming. Especially on "Easy".
Throughoutly a good album. I love this.
