Hard
Boiled II -
August 9th
Gravity Nightclub
DJ Easygroove out
from the UK playing his old school tunes. Wish he had played a little more
jungle though. Kept on going between DCs and Gravity all night. Some nice
tunes played in DCs as well. Packer played a pretty good set for the time
that we were there, but we left a little while after he started. Got bubble
gum on my jumper sitting outside DCs... ewww.
Utopia
- 16th
August
Beechboro
Seb and Simon's
birthday party. A thoroughly wicked night, a bit out of the way in Beechboro
though. Excellent venue and lighting rig, joy sound system too. Hail the
strobe. There was a foam room and a bouncy castle. One of the best locally
organised raves I've seen. Unfortunately I had the flu and didn't feel
too well. Dancing when you are sick is harsh! Left early cause of that.
Hey, at least I remember the night! I had fun anyway. Some fucking nice
jungle and Havok played a wicked hardcore set too. Disappointed I didn't
see Packer there. In short, one of the best organised and successful raves
I've been to.
Religion
- September
28th
Embassy Ballroom, Carlisle
House rave organised
to be on the same night as Helter Skelter II. Religion took the Embassy
ballroom and Helter Skelter II ended up in some basketball centre in Mirabooka.
Force and Styles didn't decide to show, and there was rumours that Ramos
and Supreme weren't coming, so not many people went to HS. Ramos actually
ended up playing, and hurt his leg getting off the stage (silly sod). Religion
had a pretty disappointing turnout, but we managed to fit 12 people into
a friend's car and still have a wicked time. I met a lot of cool people
this night. Included was Clay, a guy from Rockingham who also liked the
Prodigy (freakily enough I met him on the internet about 2 months after).
Pee Wee Ferris played a pretty wicked set. Poor turnout, but a memorable
experience.

Planet Nightclub
In 2 words, "fucking
excellent!" DJ Heaven and Frankie Foncet came to the Planet to show us
Aussies what the house scene is like in the UK. There was some excellent
acid played, but DJ Heaven's set was the best I have ever heard. I'd also
like to mention she is TOTALLY gorgeous. She also managed to drink just
about every type of beer the planet had while spinning decks (you go girl!)
If you're ever in Australia again, look me up... rrrrrrrrrrrrreowww! Hahaha,
what a woman. Very suiting name. Didn't see much of Frankie Foncet's set,
but heard it was pretty good as well. Met more people and by the end of
the night I was completely buggered from dancing. The turn up was excellent,
and there was at least enough room to dance. A lot of interesting outfits,
including a girl in an multicoloured aeroplane costume. Planet's last night
sure was a blast. LONG LIVE HOUSE!
Reunion
97 -
29th November
DCs and Gravity
Another rave which
can be summed up in the two word fashion. FUCKING EXCELLENT! A massive
crowd of people turned up to this event. Gravity was going off in a HUGE
way! Hutcho played a pretty decent hardcore set, but the marvellous DJ
Packer once again took the cake with a wicked 2 hour old skool set. I was
slightly disappointed with DCs late in the night, but it didn't matter
cause we were all in Gravity, hehehe. Best party of '97 for sure.
Sub-Harmonic
Love - New
Years Eve 97/98
Victoria Hall, Fremantle
Two phrases come
to mind, "ferals suck" and "organisation is required". Most disappointing
New Years to date. It had potential, but it wasn't publicised or supported
enough. Good music, equipment was a bit fucked though... records skipping
etc.
