Charges Against Liam Dropped

The British backpacker who suffered a broken nose after an alleged altercation with Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher in Brisbane, Australia, has withdrawn his support for criminal charges against Gallagher, and with prosecutors unable to produce evidence to mount a prosecution, the local Magistrate has dismissed the charges. The backpacker, Benjamin Jones of Great Britain, will still pursue civil actions against Gallagher in the British courts.

Gallagher was to appear in Queensland Magistrates Court next week to begin pretrial proceedings on charges of assault occasioning bodily harm, stemming from a March 5th incident in which Gallagher allegedly head-butted Benjamin Jones after Jones attempted to take Gallagher's picture on a street outside the band's hotel in Brisbane. 1
