Noel Gallagher spent several hours the airport in Vancouver, Canada, on Friday after forgetting his passport in Los Angeles and filling out an almost indecipherable visa application.
Reporters at the scene described him as "boozy." Gallagher himself admitted to being drunk when he filled out the form on the plane but blamed the bad penmanship on turbulence.
One reporter asked brother Liam who it was that forgot their pastpost. "Noel," said Liam. "The clever one who writes all the songs."
The delay nearly caused Oasis to miss their concert. It was only after much pleading on the part of Oasis management that Gallagher was allowed to leave the airport. He was rushed to the concert only barely in time for a quick soundcheck just before the doors to the venue were opened.
Contrary to published reports, the event drew less than 8000 people to the 20,000-seat GM Place, not even close to a sell-out. The fans who were on hand were well behaved. Gallagher had vowed earlier that Oasis would again "go home" if there was a repeat of the actions at their previous Vancouver appearance where a fan threw a shoe, causing the concert to be abruptly canceled after just five songs.
