Those cheeky Oasis lads are putting their money where their mouths are. The boastful British rockers are vowing to donate all
profits from a November 4 concert in Paris to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, French organizers said. The
benefit is just one of four shows that Oasis will play in France. The current tour will also make stops in Lille, Angers, and
Bordeaux. The Gallagher brothers said they decided to make the Di contribution "out of respect for her memory."

And that's not the only Di tribute that Oasis has made recently. Last week, London's Daily Star was forced to pay Noel
Gallagher substantial damages over an article the paper published in May. The feature claimed that the Oasis songwriter and
guitarist had become friendly with a New York lap dancer. Impossible, though, since the mouthy rocker was in the U.K. at the
time of the alleged incident. Gallagher has donated the undisclosed settlement to the Institute for the Study of Drug
Dependence, a charity for which Princess Diana was patron. Oasis representatives stated that the charity was chosen "because
of Princess Diana's endorsement [and] the issue of drugs is perhaps the one on which [Noel] is most often misrepresented by
the tabloid press." Last January, during an interview on a BBC radio show, Gallagher stated that taking drugs was "like getting
up and having a cup of tea in the morning." He added that "there's people in the House of Parliament, man, who are bigger
heroin and cocaine addicts than anyone in this room right now." 1
