October 24 [10:00 EDT] -- Noel and Liam Gallagher launched an all out attack against "senile" '60s rock stars on Radio 1 in England last night, taking aim at The Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
The PA News said the brothers took control of the interview session from the hapless DJ, who couldn't get a word in edgewise, and proceeded to lambaste their former heroes. The Gallaghers were described by the service as bitter, foulmouthed and abusive.
The Oasisnet website reports that Liam walked out of the 90-minute interview half way through after being mocked by his brother for using an incorrect word -- "expedition" instead of "exhibition."
Oasis based their sound and look on the Fab Four in particular and often showered the Beatles with buckets of praise, but when it turned it out that the admiration wasn't mutual -- recent sniping from Paul McCartney and George Harrison proved that -- the band took aim with Uzis.
Most recently, Rolling Stone Keith Richards stepped into the line of fire by calling the brothers "obnoxious" and Oasis "retro."
In other news, North American fans wishing to watch the abusive brethren first hand get another chance. Sources report that Oasis will be playing a concert January 9 at the Patriot Center in Washington, D.C. No other dates were mentioned.
Meanwhile, Goldie is shooting a video next week for his new single, and Oasisnet reports that Noel Gallagher will be putting in an appearance. Gallagher was also a guest on the oft-called "king of Jungle" Goldie's last album.
