Look out for: Robbie Williams - Lazy Days (CD single)

Ex-Take That member Robbie Williams continues his career move away from the now-defunct groups bubblegum pop into more 'respectable' Brit-pop territory with his third single, Lazy Days. Released locally just a few weeks ago, it's already hit the Top Ten in Britain and it's beginning to receive some airplay here.

While Lazy Days might not have as much commercial impact as the Take That releases did during the groups heyday, or even his early solo releases, it still has Williams distinctive stamp on it.

The singers current Brit-pop fixation is evident in his effort, which comes off tighter than his previous single, Old Before I Die.

It's not inaccurate to say that his voice is just as strong as ex-Take That member Gary Barlow's - and it is this that carries Lazy Days. Even more impressive are the B-sides, of which there are four on the local release.

Being a self-proclaimed fan of Brit-pop band Oasis which is well known for it's B-sides, it isn't surprising when that Williams seems to be concentrating on building a massive repertoire of B-side tracks: he's already got at least 10 and that's just from three single releases.

Fans will welcome him back. And with his album only slated for an October release, this will just have to do for the time being.
