URBAN HYMNS TRANSMISSION

... there was once a storm in heaven.... sounds which shook and rattled even so much as to induce visions in its multi-layered reverberations... it swept us up and we whirled through space at the speed of light, dancing with ethereal screeches and crunchy streaks of jazz... i saw sprinkling stars fall through the luminous clouds of gas stretched across the neon sky... i saw comets collide and supernovas explode... i saw time-lapsed images of evolution as it sprung from the surface of the earth... people and machines moving about like little molecules and electrons... underground trains picked up and smashed by the sheer force of sonic waves... i saw a tiny beautiful insect flap it's wings and give birth to a monstrous hurricane... and i swear i saw an angel come down and gently push a lush green forest flat to ground with a single breath only to have sites set on a distant city. then suddenly i found myself wrapped in flesh... reborn. i was a northern soul standing against the brisk breeze of great body of water... i had a broken heart... i was lost and alone and i was in that distant city. inside of my digital electronic audible transmission device i could hear reproduced voices and sounds. sometimes what it said gave me chills and quite honestly i felt that it was speaking to me specificly. suddenly the voices and the sounds dissolved into a chorus of fading strings and i was left alone in silence, save a voice echoing in my head: "you better pray when the music stops and you're left alone in your mind... cause i'll be hearing music 'til the day i die" ... over and over and over... and out. and then i heard it again... first the strings, and then the sounds... a catchy beat and then the voice... it was different this time though... it reminded me of the other sounds i'd heard before, but it seemed to be bottled up, it seemed to be constrained by FM frequencies and multimedia packages, AOR formats, and unit shifting. the strange thing was, that i wasn't the only one hearing it anymore. my friends claimed to have heard it at work on radio speakers, from passing cars, and at home through their television speakers. they would call me up on the telephone and i could hear it through fiber optic cables. i obtained an audible reproduction disc (made of silicon... of course) from a pixie (another story entirely) which contained these new sounds and when i listened to them in my room one night as i watched the day fade i saw a different picture... i saw distant jumpcuts of a man wrapping himself around a mic stand, bouncing up and down, and stretching out his arms like a funky bird trying to get off the ground with his imagination... he was taunting a huge crowd of onlookers to try and do the same as a rock and roll band bellowed new yet strangely familiar sounds out into the atmosphere. i can't be sure, but they all seemed to have a sly look on their faces that said: 'you ain't heard nothin' yet, cos' you know we got more than this...' and with that the vision broke up into fading sprinkles of light, giving way to the interior of my studio, echoing multi-layered sounds from my speakers mixed with that same voice: 'we're breakin' in... we're breakin' in... ...come on!' and i just smiled and thought to myself... "wow... for a rock and roll band, this is some pretty #@%$'n good stuff." : )
