Anibersaryo
(yiheeeee!!!)
AT!

Hapi New Year!!!!
The year 1998 has ended and I should say that it was a good year for our favorite band. They have made it in the Asian market and that's something to be proud of! Let's just wish the band a very "fruitful" year ahead. NATIN99! Sorry I wasn't able to update this page for the past month. Been buzy reading mails from the cats and the tigers and the monkeys and who knows who else from the CIRCUS.. hehehe… there were hundreds of newsworthy things I got there … there were just so many that I didn't know where to start. Here r just some of the updates that I can remember: Eheads in Australia in April 1999 (confirmed) and a tour to Indonesia and Malaysia sometime in February or March. I'll just post the details later. The guys have also done radio and print ads for Oxygen Shirts. And they have already finished shooting music videos for their songs Spoliarium (for the Philippines) and With A Smile (for Asia). In the meantime, let's keep on e-rockin and e-rollin and let's enjoi the new year! Natin tayo dyan!

"When's the 2nd PILLBOX coming out?" Well, well, a very good question, Buddy said. To those who have been waiting for the 2nd issue of the official Eraserheads fanzine, well, guess u still have to wait a little more. The management said that it's supposed to be ready for printing (az in already in the printing press!) but they have to hold it because of some errors. They still have to edit some things. Pero ok lang. We never get tired of waiting eniwei...

The music video for the song Julie Tearjerky

A new video!
I got this bit of news when i watched The Probe Team on TV.
The Eheads had already started shooting a new video for the new song "Julie Tearjerky",

Eraserheads endorses Chippy anew
by Shirley Matias Pizarro
(article from Manila Bulletin, Sun., 15 Feb. '98)
A couple of weeks back, there was a grand celebration at Planet Mars in Makati wherein the country's premiere rock band, the Eraserheads, took centerstage one more time as they endorse Jack 'N Jill Chippy, easily the country's leading snack. The group is featured in a unique commercial where all the variants of Chippy are included. The same avant garde-style commercial was launched during the occasion billed "Basta Tipar," being presented by the Monster Radio, RX 93.1. This will be the second time that the quartet of Ely Buendia, Raymund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro, will be endorsing Jack 'N Jill Chippy. They were first featured endorsing the Sweet Corn variant of Chippy in a funny fast-paced commercial featuring their song "Ligaya." The group is featured this time, with their song "Bogchi Hokbu" (culled from their latest album under BMG Records entitled "Sticker Happy") adaptation in the commercial that introduces all four variants of Chippy -- More Barbecue, Chili 'N Cheese, Sweet Corn and Sweet 'N Spice. The commercial, which they call "Project 3D" shows colorful scenes, funny vignettes paced with the song's rhythm. Mainy a feel-good commercial with look and costumes inspired by the comedy hit "Austin Powers" but was localized for a Pinoy retro effect. The TV ad, which was shot for three days, was directed by Matthew Rosen, the same director behind "Kaliwete" music video and "Ligaya" commercial. Exciting scenes in the ad include a Hard Rock Cafe scene where the band performs before a screaming horde of fans going crazy over them wherein Marcus sneaks under a table to enjoy a pack of Chippy; a bedroom scene where Ely sleepwalks because of his craving for Chippy and ends up inside a UFO; a moviehouse scene where the moviegoers look like they came straight out of a movie themselves and a rain of Chippy packs fall on Buddy; and a James Bond scene wherein beautiful girls appear with Raimund. To add to the fun, band- members take the Chippy plunge in the Chippy pool. The launch party was hosted by MTV VJ Shannen Torres with RX 93.1 DJs Boom Gonzales and the duo of Chico and Delamar. Exciting games were held and the participants were the winners of the on-air promo of RX 93.1 which ran for six days. To give honor to the partygoers who came in their glorious retro splendour, the "Di Basta-Basta Retro King & Queen " awards were also given. All in all, the night was a fun, fun party no end.
