Graham: You're So great, Meeting blur.

Meeting Blur

Monday the 3rd of November is one day that I will definitely never forget for the rest of my life. It was the day that I met blur!
I wasn't too sure that blur were leaving Melbourne for Adelaide on Monday but I went to the airport anyway on the off chance that they might be leaving and that I might even be able to see them. My friend and I got to Melbourne Airport at about 9:30 in the morning. We knew that they were flying Ansett Australia so we went to the information desk and my friend told the guy that her brother "Graham Coxon" was leaving today on Ansett but she wasn't too sure of what time the flight was. We knew that our story sounded pretty corny but it was worth a try. He looked up "Coxon" on his computer then asked my friend if it was blur she was after, he then told her that Albarn, Coxon, James and Rowntree were all leaving for Adelaide at 12:25. We couldn't beleive that he had actually told us what flight they were on. By this stage I was real exited and I knew that I would finally see blur.
We walked around the airport for abit then came back to the Ansett Departure Lounge where we met up with some friends of ours. Then some of our other friends came over to us and told us that blur's tarago was outside and that they were somewhere in the airport. We waited around for abit then I decided to go outside and see if they were there. My firend came with me and saw that they were outside. I called out to my other friends and told them to come up. As I got outside I could see Graham, Alex and Dave just standing there smoking while the luggage from there bus was being unloaded.
First I went up to Graham said HI and asked him how he liked Australia. Then I asked him to sign my Leisure cd cover. I was real sruprised at how nice he was. He said "yeah sure" and I told him that he was so great and he just gave me this cute little grin. While he signed my cd he told me that I had a nice jumper on. Then I asked for a photo and again he was real nice about it and said "yeah alright" and I got a photo taken with him.
I then went over to Dave he signed my Great Escape cd cover and the cover of my blur book. I also got a photo with him.
I then went over to Alex. He signed my blur book and I also got a real cute photo with him. Alex seemed to be a bit out of it.
I then went back to Graham, and he signed my Modern Life Is Rubbish cd cover.
Graham started to pick up his things and made his way into the airport. My friend and I followed him in and started to talk to him. I still can't believe how nice he was. For some reason I had the impression that he might have been a bit of a snob and wouldn't be that keen on talking to us. I also thought that he'd hate the fact that we were taking photos of him and asking for autographs but he didn't seem to mind. He was just real nice and down to earth. As we got to the check in area as I went through the metal detector the alarm went of because of my camera and I was told to put my camera on the check in belt and as I did Graham was putting his bags on the belt and he said to me "Beep Beep". He was so cute!
After we'd collected our stuff from the check-in area my friend asked him if he was writing any songs and he said that he had written quite a few. We then talked for abit and he then went into the cafe where the other roadies and people were.
My friends and I all sat by the daparture gate and waited for the guys to go into the plane. Graham went in first, then a very happy Alex, then Dave with a Big Mac in hand and then Damon came but before going in he signed my Parklife cd cover. And that was the end to my fantastic experience of meeting blur!
